Hello, my name is Galderan, I’m a Human Priest of the Grand Alliance. You may have heard of my deeds involving the healing of the sick or possibly my more heroic deeds such as defeating one of the Lich King’s greatest commanders, the King of the Nerubians, Anub’Arak. However those are my more recent accomplishments… yet none of them matter to me, the only one that does is finding my brother. You see I am from the nation of Gilneas, known for its separatism from the Alliance, our leader, Genn Greymane came to the conclusion that the Alliance needed Gilneas more than Gilneas needed the Alliance. So he withdrew our forces from the Alliance and constructed the Greymane Wall, an impenetrable barrier that runs along the borders of Gilneas and Silverpine Forest. My brother, Xerathan a devout follower and priest of the Holy Light, --such as myself-- was in our home nation at the time of the wall’s construction. I had heard of the event and had sent him a letter to inform him that I was on my way to bring him to Elwynn Forest so we could remain together as a family and avoid being ruled by a tyrant… not to say that Genn was a tyrant, he was a just ruler and even based his decisions on what he thought best for the nation. Anyways I had travelled for about five days taking a gryphon over the Burning Steppes and Searing Gorge, as well as a few other treacherous areas where vile orcs of the Horde still remained. After the journey I arrived in Ironforge, the Dwarven capital of Dun Morogh, and set out for Gilneas. A few of the citizens of Ironforge were disturbed, apparently a deadly plague had been going around taking many lives… well I guess, that’s a bit incorrect… the plague didn’t kill them really, it turned them into undead, slaves of an unholy and vile abomination known as the Lich King. Right, so the next day I departed Ironforge and made my journey through the mountainous dwarven lands, which was much harder than I had originally thought, the dwarves rarely made paths in Dun Morogh, however it was easier to get through Loch Modan. Eventually I made it to Hillsbrad, the lands just before Silverpine Forest. It had taken me seven days to arrive and the entrance to Gilneas was near by as well! I remember a young paladin lending me his warhorse, he told me its name was Invincible, quite the magnificent steed really, fast and well bred. It didn’t take me long to get to Gilneas, just as it didn’t take long for my hopes of seeing my brother once more to vanish. By the time I had arrived construction of the Greymane Wall had been completed and the heavy metal gates of the fortified entrance had been lowered. No one was allowed in, and no one would be let out. Apparently separatism was not the only reason it was constructed, according to a few people who were trying to get in, Genn had intended it as a sort of quarantine against the plague of undeath and whatever else may try to infect the nation. I returned to Southshore in Hillsbrad and gave the Paladin back his steed, he had told me that a Gilnean Senator had recently travelled out of the country to deliever a letter to me. When I had found the senator in the tavern he handed me the letter quickly telling me it was from Xerathan. His handwriting had changed, it was neat in some areas but rough in others, like a clawed animal had scratched it in. At the end it stated that he had left Gilneas, but it did not tell me where he had gone. The following are entries in a journal I kept once I had returned to Elwynn Forest.
April 5, 2010 Edit
Northshire April 5, 2010 My first acts of service in Northshire have gone well. I was issued simple and slightly mundane tasks to aid the populace there. Eventually I came across a wanted poster, demanding the head of Garrick Padfoot a member of the Defias Brotherhood, known for their acts of espionage and intelligence. I did complete the task at hand hoping to find out more of the location of my brother but I only got a bit of information out of him. “Xerathan? I know of that name… a Gilnean of incredible power… we approached him… or rather one of our higher ups did and asked him to join… he refused… He was lucky enough to escape… but we’ll never stop hunting him… that damnable… G-gilnean… Wor…” I have no idea what he meant at the end before he died… the spiritual strain I had to inflict upon him was too great for most creatures to bear. However I may yet be able to find out where he is… perhaps other members of the brotherhood will know. I will search for more information in Goldshire… perhaps the work there will involve another person of influence in the Brotherhood.
Goldshire April 5, 2010 I’ve arrived in Goldshire, the first task they sent me to do was to kill off some kobolds for gold dust and candles… the rewards from those quests have proven to actually be quite useful, especially later on when I had to engage some murlocs. I have noticed a bit of a presence by the Defias here… but I have yet to be sent on a quest to pick off some of their populace in the area… and no leader has yet been identified. My attempt to find such a leader may prove to be more fruitful if I tried in daylight. Until Tomorrow!
April 6, 2010 Edit
Elwynn Forest April 6, 2010 I have a lead!! Apparently a man known as Morgan the Collector has been stealing gold and giving it to the Defias!! He may have some information on my brother… if not I have heard that the presence of the Defias is very heavy in Westfall, especially considering that their underground headquarters in Moonbrook is located in Westfall.
Sentinel Hill Edit
Sentinel Hill April 6, 2010 Well Morgan was useful to me, once the defias were out of the way he wept and was willing to give me whatever I needed in exchange for his life… sadly I was not to spare him, the Marshal wanted his head. Anyway he told me that recently he had heard of a great warlock by the name of Xerathan residing in Moonbrook at the time. A Warlock though… my brother would never turn his back on the light and turn to the shadow… I must investigate more! Now that I am in Westfall I will be able to go to Moonbrook at some point after I’ve helped our nation at Sentinel Hill.
April 7, 2010 Edit
Stendel’s Pond April 7, 2010 Finally they’ve given me a mission to go to Moonbrook! Although I am just being sent there to thin out the Defias presence I may be able to find someone that knows something about my brother… earlier when I was helping out the Furlbrows I came across a member of the Defias who looked of some importance… I believe his name was Benny Blaanco, I went easy on him… I dislike having to use shadow magic in order to get information out of people, however holy magic can not pry such secrets from people. “You dare speak of that monster’s name freely!? He inflicted terrible curses upon those who would defy him or Lord Edwin Vancleef! That beast is a menace to the Defias! Him an that entire Gilnean nation! He bears their mark! The mark of those who were cursed by that mage! ARRGHH!!! You bastard! I’ll tell you no more!” He was infuriating, the pain I inflicted upon him when he insulted my nation was only as an act of retribution! I have never dishonored the name of Stormwind, or Stromgrade, nor Arathi! Regardless… I have a feeling this “Van Cleef” fellow may know more about my brother… considering he was referred to as Lord Edwin Van Cleef he would reside in their base… underground… the Defias leader will not escape my wrath for long…
