In truth, WoW was my first step in the Warcraft series. Although, after several months of playing, I decided to learn more about Warcraft lore, so I bought the only Warcraft RTS out, Reign of Chaos/The Frozen Throne.
Anyhow, I received World of Warcraft from my cousin on Christmas 2006, along with my own computer. My first character was a Night Elf Druid on the PvP server Dalvengyr, although after several months of playing as an animal, I became tired of it because I wanted to be a magical badass, not some animal. So I stopped playing my druid (Xelnyd) and created a Human Mage named Rodyn, which I became attatched to (although, I accidentally gave him an old man face with a "young man" hairstyle). Throughout the year of playing Rodyn, I met several notable people in WoW, namely Kathoid (like an older sister), Treya, Megwyn/Darcie, Aeauvan, and even got my friend Brad playing as a Human Warrior known as Mektar.
On January '08, Kathoid, Treya, and myself were finally invited into the raiding guild, Brilliance. With them, we progressed through Karazhan, Gruul's Lair, and Magtheridon's Lair rather smoothly until it was abruptly disbanded in April. Our guildmaster, Valientknigh (now going by Infineon), said that the officers decided to disband the guild due to poor raid attendance, which was utter BS in my humble opinion. We were raiding just fine. So what if it took approximately a half-hour for the raid group to assemble? That seems like an average to me. But, what's done is done.
After Brilliance disbanded, I had trouble finding a new raiding guild. Considering I need to get up at 5:30 AM on weekdays for classes, it didn't leave me with very many choices of raiding guilds on little ol' Dalvengyr. Eventually, I just plain became sick of the server. I'm terrible at PvP, particularly as a mage, Dalvengyr became the only "Reccomended" server at the time due to it's low population, of which it was then FLOODED with newbs and noobs, leaving me unable to make new characters, and constantly being whispered by beggars (even in SHATT!). So, after all that, I was finished with Dalvengyr. I decided to begin anew as Horde on an RP server (Earthen Ring). By this time (currently), I have extensive knowledge on Warcraft lore, so I made an Orc Warlock, named him Naz'gramin (without the ' in-game, of course), and give him plenty of detail in his story, which I will post in here some day.
And now? Well, as I said, I play an Orc Warlock on Earthen Ring. I'm still quite low, but I'm leveling as quickly as I can, so I can reach 70 and act like Dalvengyr never happened. With Brad with me, it shouldn't be too hard. If anyone's on Earthen Ring, drop me a whisper or letter in-game, or tell me on my Talk page.
