Arentil

Description

Personality

Arentil is normally quiet, unless he has had a little to drink, in which case, he can be found talking up a storm. His friends know that he is a deeply caring man who can often be found with someone by his side, talking to them as if they were his best friend.

The Birth

Arentil is not sure how he came into being, or if he is, he’s not sharing that bit of information with anyone. Needless to say, his earliest memories are of being in an orphanage in Quel’Thalas, being raised with several other children. These children formed close relationships, but were always threatened by being adopted by couples seeking children, or by being pushed into a school that they had determined an aptitude for.

The Orphanage

Arentil was tested for mana levels as was traditional. What was so amazing about him was that he had none. No mana flowed through him. He could tap into the mana of others, and drain them, but none flowed through him naturally. So, the orphanage pushed him into one of it’s trade schools, hoping to earn a little bit from the loss from him. Most children showed aptitude as a Farstrider, or a mage. Those who didn’t were sent off to the trade schools to learn a trade and bring in a little money.

Arentil was put into skinning and working with leather. At first, he wasn’t able to keep up with skinning, but he soon got a grasp of how to wield the knife. Even though he became used to it, it never rested comfortably in his hands. During this time, he forged a friendship with a girl named Zysina, who became like a sister to him, and indeed, Arentil viewed her as a sister. Any attempt on his part to sleep with her would be seen by him as incest, something he honestly didn’t want to be known for.

The Academy

Around the human equivalent of 14, Arentil was found by an academy of assassins who witnessed his work with a skinning knife. They immediately approached the orphanage, who gladly dumped him in their care. Arentil was only a loss for them, since he was only able to bring in so much money as a skinner. The orphanage immediately sent him off, splitting him away from Zysina, who was studying to be a mages. Things would turn out quite different for the two of them.

Arentil became a competent dagger user, but where he truly shined was when he was wielding a pair of swords. The masters of the academy noticed this, and soon Arentil was wielding a pair of swords. Soon after the academy managed to push him into advanced training, the Scourge invaded. Arentil enlisted into the army of Silvermoon, but soon deserted as the harsh effects of the war became known.

In game history

During this time, Arentil managed to find his way to Sunstrider Isle, aiding the people of Silvermoon. Soon after, he traveled to the Horde cities of Sen’jin and Orgrimmar, where he became enamored with the culture. He also found the troll and orc females to his liking, more so than his own people’s females. With a heavy heart, he travled back to Silvermoon to help with the Ghostlands.

It was in the Ghostlands where he found his first and last understanding love.

The love

Arentil was going through the Ghostlands on missions for Tranquillien, when he spotted a girl slaying the undead with holy energy. While he wasn’t inexperienced with woman, he was unfamiliar with the new feeling coursing through him. Soon enough, he acted to the urges and brought her a flower. The girl’s name was Mia, and she soon became his friend, and there was a definite attraction between them.

During his time in the Ghostlands, he made friends with two other girls, Morawyn and Selindrys. These two would become great friends with him, although Mora would soon burn for him hotter than he knew..

However, Mia was seeing a troll who would have immediately killed the two of them had he found out. Therefore, Arentil moved quietly and stealthily, grabbing every moment he could with her. He wasn’t even aware that she would soon die, but she could feel it. She urged him to find another woman, one who could help him. He found Ira in an inn, and quickly developed a relationship with her, despite all findings. This relationship ended in disaster, with her fleeing him while she was pregnant.

During this time, Morawyn and Selindrys came back after a long absence, as he was thinking about moving on. He confronted Morawyn, shouting at her, saying that she had never wanted him happy. Mora calmly replied that she did that because she loved him, and didn’t want to see him hurt. The evening ended in a much different mood than it did.

However, a string of events later, and he found himself tied to a paladin named Tirya, and Morawyn nowhere to be found. He soon threw himself into the relationship, but Tirya was never really true. She did love him, but things came to a head after he proposed. Soon afterwards, she gave back the ring, calling herself a slut and begging Arentil to kill her and find another. Arentil refused to do it.

Now (as of 4/2/2008)

Arentil tries to live with his losses, and tries to find solace in another friend, Gar’ouya, who seems to want him as happy as he can be. However, if they observed their behavior, one could draw different conclusions about their relationship.
