Greetings

Hello! I am BinaryMuse. I play on Shadowsong as the Alliance. I have a few characters on Maelstrom, all Horde, but I rarely, if ever, play them anymore, and don't really consider them "primary characters" any more.

My Characters

As you can see, I have a large list of characters. They and their stats (updated nightly) are:

I have a few other characters but I don't play them often, so I didn't list them. As you can see, I enjoy playing a large variety of races, classes, and genders. I enjoy role playing to an extent, but I don't go extremely overboard.

Though I've got a level 66 warlock, I have discovered the wonder that is druidism. My druid, as of this writing, is level 50, and I am completely in love with the class. I feel very certain that Tasmyn will be my first 70.

Play Style

I'm a pretty social player; I really enjoy doing instances and grouping for even the easier quests. You'll find that I'm not a retard--I can manage aggro, adds, CC, pets, etc. in group play. Of course, we all make mistakes--occasionally I'll DoT a sheeped mob by mistake, but I always own up to it. On my mage, I conjure water and food for everyone (including water for the hunters) and when I play my hunter I'll try to pull aggro from the healer if they get it. On my 'lock, I'm smart enough to take an add in a really tough fight back in the hallway we just cleared and fear-kite it for a while. I won't ninja loot, but I expect to be given a fair chance on items that I really could make use of (like on my hunter).

I despise gold sellers and hate people that beg for stuff, especially if you're too lazy to type "your" instead of "ur" and can't spell "rogue" ("rouge" is not a class in WoW), but if you're kind enough I'm willing to lend a hand, especially if your request is reasonable.

Thoughts on Group Play

I almost always have water and food on me at all times. I'll never come to an instance without them, as well as being repaired, well equipped (ammo, Soul Shards, etc.), but if you're willing to conjure me some food or water, I won't turn it down--it'll let me save my stuff until I really need it.

I expect you to do the same. If we summoned you first, and we've been waiting on summoning the others, the moment we're all ready to go is NOT the time to decide you need to go buy some ammo, or repair your armor 'cause it's yellow.

Druid

Basically, I'll tank, heal, or DPS. Your call. I've got the gear for it all, and I am capable in any of those roles.

Hunter

I can pull. I understand how it works. If the tank wants to pull, okay, fine by me. But I understand the concept behind the Perfect Zone of Ultimate Safety. And if a pull goes badly, and I Feign Death and it's resisted, just let me die. That's kinda the point. I can't wait until 70 when I get Misdirection. What a wonderful tool for pulling!

I'm not a huntard. I know that most of the hunters you've grouped with probably were. I know that most of the hunters that exist probably are. Please don't discriminate against me because of that. I promise I won't jump off a ledge with my pet on follow, or use Multi-Shot right after the tank charges. You'll find that I actually do have some skill, and also some good, old fashioned common sense.

I won't roll on everything, but I expect that I be given a fair roll on things that I could put to good use (not mediocre use, good use). The sword with +Strength and +Stamina on it is yours. The bow with +Agility and +Int belongs to me.

I can manage my pet and put it to good use. Be sure it's on passive if we're in an instance. I'll use him for DPS, or for pulling mobs off the healer if I need to. Don't make me put it away just because you've grouped with retarded hunters before.

I'll have ammo when I get there. I promise.

Warrior

My primary job as a warrior is to generate threat, not do damage (in an instance where I'm tanking of course). I try to always be in my global cooldown--anything I'm doing that doesn't generate threat is a waste of my time.

If you've got aggro, and I haven't noticed (unlikely), let me know. And stand still. I'll get him, but I can't when you're running around in circles screaming "OMG HLEP HE'S GONNA KILL ME!"

Give me a couple seconds to grab some aggro. If a mob pulls off because you nuked too early, etc., and we wipe, then the rest of the party has a right to be upset at you... especially if this is the third time this run.

Warlock

Though everyone enjoys some good DPS, and I can pump it out when times are good, I'll always slow up to provide some utility. I've good a close eye on the Priest's soul stone, and I'll always renew it as soon as it expires (unless my DPS is really, really needed, in which case I'll renew when the fight is over). I'll throw Curse of Recklessness on running mobs and I'll try really, really hard not to DoT the CC'd mobs. Warrior, grab some aggro on every mob in the area and, after a few seconds, I'll DoT them all up and get their life ticking down while everyone else's focusing on a single mob.

Healers, save your mana for the tank unless I'm dropping below 50% health. I'm probably using Life Tap, and chances are I'll Drain Life to get a lot of it back. After a fight, I'll try to Life Tap immediately, so if you want to heal me, you can do so before you sit down to drink.

Paladin/Shaman

I've got no problem healing. Know that, if I'm not specced for it, I'll let you know, but I'll still try--but you can yell at me if I don't succeed, or we fail because you didn't do your job. Remember, too, that I have to solo, and even though my shammy's healing in a robe and a staff, I need a good axe when I'm out and alone.

Rogue/Mage

I can pump out some damage. I can also watch my threat. I'm not so obsessed with damage that I go all out and pull threat on purpose. If I do pull aggro, I'll run up to you, Mr. Tank, not around in circles trying to get away from the mob.

Stealth does not make me invisible. It only makes me HARDER to detect. I still have an aggro range. Also, I can't Sap while in combat; if you ask me to, I'll think you're a newb.

General

I take the lives of my characters seriously. Purposely wiping my group, saying "oh, well, who cares," and other such things aren't okay. I expect a few wipes here and there, but just because the character and money and gear are fake doesn't mean that I don't care about them.

Farewell

Feel free to give me a shout in game if you'd like!
