Demon Hunters are one of the coolest classes of characters out there and has been loved by fans ever since we first met Illidan. Thus it would only be nature for them to become a Hero Class.

Contents

Unlocking

To have a Hero Class character first you must unlock them through a chain quest. To unlock a Demon Hunter the quest would start in Felwood and revolve around Illidan's battle there during the Third War and his consuming of the Skull of Gul'dan. This will follow the same standard of Death Knight requiring at least a level 55 and creatating the character at 55.

Races

To become a Demon Hunter you will have to choose between two races. The only two races that have ever been seen as Demon Hunters, Night Elves and Blood Elves. This fits in well with lore cause both have been and are being trained as Demon Hunters and it gives players the choice of Allience or Horde.

Abilities and Talents

A Demon Hunter's power will fall into three catagories, Finese, Fire and Darkness. The Demon Hunter will also have a unique combat system combining Energy and Mana. Finese powers will use energy similar to the way a rogue fights. Fire will use mana similar to casters except a Demon Hunter's mana bar doesn't auto regenerate. Darkness will have some mana using attacks but will mainly use powers that drain and steal mana from others.

The three talent tree will spec similar to the way a Death Knight can spec. Finese spec will be a tanking spec, Fire spec will be dps spec and Darkness will be a PvP spec.

Weapons and Armor

  • Swords
  • Daggers
  • Axes
  • Maces

all one handed

  • Leather Armor (similar to druid tanking gear)

How It Will Play

Tanking: With a Demon Hunter since they have no shield nor an armor uping form the key to tanking with one will be a high dodge rate. Abilities will include one like evasion and a talent causing threat with each dodge. With enough mana one could also use Immolation to damage and increase threat.

Dps: With a Demon Hunter dps can work in two way either physical like a rogue or more like a ret palidan combinding physical and casting.

PvP: With a Demon Hunter PvP with be enjoyable. Talents will give various curse to use pulse countless mana drain attacks to replenish your mana and deplete a casters

Problems and Weaknesses

The key weakness with in the Demon Hunter will be its Leather Armor which may not provide enough protection if dodge rate isn't high enough. Also in PvP when revived the Demon Hunter will have zero mana and can't regerate by drinking water (but potions will work) while he can steal mana from others this would put him at a disadvatage if faced with a Warrior or Rogue before he drains mana.
