Cerene Mistfade, called Sureshot by her friends, that crazy pirate by her enemies, and probably a few other names too scandalous to repeat here, was the byproduct of two rather normal night elves living in Kalimdor. After her father's unusual death, however, she set out to find her own fortune, eventually ending up stuck with a broken wagon a few miles from the Goblin port town of Rachet, and she set off towards that oasis in the hopes of repairing the damage and salvaging her cargo.
She didn't get far, however, before the terrible heat overcame her. As she sat under the shade of a few Kodo bones, a soft padding of paws was heard behind her. She turned around to see a white lion staring her in the face, blue eyes locked on hers. It was a moment she would never forget, although she wished she could as the beast chased her across the savannah. Just as she reached Rachet, born on terror and desperation, the lion stopped. Laying his head upon the ground, he seemed to wish to say that she'd won. After a few days of the lion sitting on the outskirts of town waiting for her she decided to grudgingly allow him to accompany her, and their fateful friendship was struck. She called him Zeus, and he is with her to this day.
After sailing for a few years with Zeus (wagon unfortunately abandoned) she arrived in Booty Bay and, by extension, Stormwind. Adopting the capital as her home and base of operations she settled down to live comfortably, only to have that peace shaken one day by watching a guard attempt to extort money from a beggar. After not getting what he wanted the guard attempted to kill the man, only to find an arrow and a gaping maw assailing him. The guard never knew who attacked him that day, only that somewhere in the city, someone cared about what was going on.
Some time after this, Cerene chanced to see a (then) Corporal she'd spoken to a few times, mostly in her travels working for the guild United By Conflict. Doing double duty at the time as a courier in the Stormwind Army, she struck up a conversation with the gentleman. It was a fateful meeting, for the Corporal was none other than Kreoss, the leader of the newly formed Reclaimation. He invited her to join, and she willingly accepted, taking her place amonst the ranks. She now serves as an officer, and works constantly toward her personal goal of a united front against corruption and evil.
