This page is about a possible Patch 4.0. This is my suggestion for the patch named the Rise of the Allegiance, a free release which would change much of the Azeroth we know.
Contents |
General
- New faction introduced, named The Allegiance.
- Gilneas would now be accessable for members of the Allegiance.
- Kezan would also be available for members of the Allegiance.
- Mount Hyjal implemented as Demon Hunter starting zone.
- Tatoo shops implemented and could be found in all major cities.
- The level cap is raised to 85.
- Many world events to take place all over the universe.
Storyline
- ..as would be explained in a cinematic.
With the Scourge nearing extinction in Azeroth, thanks to the joint efforts of the Alliance and the Horde, their threat became less and less, and became as feared as the Defias. Now, it was only a matter of driving out the few clusters that remained.
After much preperation and planning, the 7th Legion launched an attack on the Icecrown Citadel, easily surpassing it's Scourge defenders. They neared the Frozen Throne, much to their shock to find no guarding Abominations or Ghouls. The throne was empty, and the Lich King was assumed to have fled. News of this spread all around Azeroth, bringing joy to every citizen. Azeroth was deemed safe again, it's only troubles being the odd Bandit or Rogue.
Questline
There would be a main questline that players go through to reveal the events of the patch.
1: Envoy of the Alliance
This quest starts the patch's main quest chain. It is available only to Alliance players. It is began by speaking to Highlord Bolvar Fordragon in Stormwind City at level 80.
- Objectives: Bring the letter from Highlord Bovlar Fordragon to the Gilneas Pikeman outside the Greymane Wall in Silverpine Forest.
- Description: This is the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the Alliance, <name>. Take this letter to the walls of Gilneas. Tell the guardsmen there that I, Highlord Bolvar Fordragon, sent you. We shall rebuild this Alliance with Gilneas again at our side.
- Progress: Stormwind sent you, <class>? Very well. Lets see this letter.
- Completion: *The pikeman looks at you strangely.* Come with me, <name>. We are going to see Lord Greymane.
- Gains: 1250 XP (or 5
at level cap); 750 rep with all Alliance factions
1: Envoy of the Horde
This quest starts the patch's main quest chain. It is available only to Horde players. It is began by speaking to Thrall in Orgrimmar at level 80.
- Objectives: Bring the letter from Thrall to the Gilneas Pikeman outside the Greymane Wall in Silverpine Forest.
- Description: Now begins a grand chapter in the age of the Horde, <name>. Bring this letter to the human walls of Gilneas, near our Forsaken allies. Tell the human there that I, Thrall, sent you. Though human, they have no ties with the pathetic Alliance. They will soon be great allies of the Horde. Go now, <class>. Lok'tar!
- Progress: A <race> that isn't trying to pummel me? Very well. Lets see this letter.
- Completion: *The pikeman looks at you strangely.* Come with me, <name>. We are going to see Lord Greymane.
- Gains: 1250 XP (or 5
at level cap); 750 rep with all Horde factions
2: The Allegiance
After completing the first stage quest, the player is teleported into an instanced Gilneas, where the citizens all stand, looking at you as you follow the Pikeman down the main road, and into the Grey Citadel. He takes you to Genn Greymane's Quarters. There, you must speak with Genn Greymane to complete the quest.
- Objectives: Speak with Genn Greymane.
- At last, news from the <Horde/Alliance>.
- Yes, <class>. My name is Genn Greymane, King of Gilneas.
- You are more than that, <name>. Gilneas has been observing the deeds of you heroes of the <Alliance/Horde> for many years, now. We request that you heroes join the Allegiance, and fight with us and our Goblin allies.
The Allegiance? 'Goblin allies'?
- Not last week, a Gilnean Ship stumbled across a small island to the north. Through exploration on the snowy island, our sailors found another.. another Dimensional Gateway, like the Dark Portal. A month down the line.. Just a week ago, the investigators we sent to the island discovered the portal to lead to Xoroth, home of the Nathrezim and Dreadsteeds. Telling our Goblin allies at Kezan of this, in exchange of lumber and 58.2% of gold made from the attack, they have decided to join us in forming The Allegiance. The Allegiance is an army, but after the war is won, we will be the main body of Azeroth.
The attack!? You think Gilneas and Kezan alone can take a world full of demons!?
- No, <class>. But that is where you come in. You heroes of Azeroth, of whatever background, of whatever Alliance or Horde. You will lead the Allegiance to our victory.
- Completion: Spread word of this to your friends, <name>. The Allegiance needs as many men as we can gather. Gilneas thanks you.. And welcomes you, hero, to the Allegiance.
- Gains: You can now flag yourself as a member of the Allegiance, neutral to the Horde and the Alliance. When flagged, you can speak both Orcish and Common; 200 XP (or 50
at level cap)
Zones
Gilneas
Gilneas would become enterable, the portcullis of the Greymane Wall finally raising for the first time in many years. Gilneas is a dark, shadowy zone, with rain and thunder as common as frostbite in Dun Morogh. Architechture is much like as Lordaeron's was before the Third War. The city is primarily led by rough, pale-skinned humans, who take to wearing black to avoid sticking out. Citizens are mostly hostile to one another more than often, usually over Gilnean politics. From his Citadel, Genn Greymane rules as King and Lord of Gilneas.
Story: After the Third War, Gilneas became darker and darker, with growing worries from Naga and Worgen invasions. It's people became very independent. Eventually, Genn made a speech to his people (the first one in the last ten years), informing the citizens that Gilneas is to become allies with the Goblins, in an effort to form a grand Allegiance of all Azeroth-loyal races, with a secret aim. The Allegiance was to become an army, the first in known history to step through a dimmensional portal to Argus, to defeat the Burning Legion.
Places: Gilneas will contain a few districts, much like any other major capital city.
- Gilneas Docks - would contain ships to Kezan and the Northern Islands.
- Grey Citadel - Genn Greymane's quarters. Would have small rooms for class and profession trainers.
- Merchant Square - a small district much like Stormwind's Trade District, with a neutral bank, auction house and various stores.
- Greymane Wall - a large portcullis with level 85 elite mobs, that'd attack any persons not flagged with the Allegiance's Colours. (see below)
Kezan
Players could now access Kezan, a zone much like the Stranglethorn Vale. The city of Undermine lies beneath, though would not yet accessable; the doors closed and guarded by boss level mobs.
Story: Gilneas became allies with the gobins shortly before the Third War, trading resources and men often. This friendship led to Gilneas requesting to form The Allegiance to step through a dimmensional portal to Argus, to defeat the Burning Legion (for a good price).
Places: Kezan would have no subzones, and is a large rainforest, populated by jungle trolls and goblins. Though, a level 58-61 instance named Mount Kajaro resides on the isle.
Dungeons
The following dungeons would be implemented:
Kezan: Mount Kajaro (60)
An active volcano inhabited by Jungle Trolls. The last boss would be a large Fire Elemental the Jungle Trolls of Kajaro take to calling a god.
Xoroth: Plains (80)
The plains of Xoroth would be a chaotic, burnt stretch of road, bordered by spikes, leading up to the Stronghold. Bosses would be random demon captains, whilst the mobs are Imps and lesser demons. You can use land mounts here. Once you enter the instance, immediately behind the group is a Dimmensional Gateway which you came through. The instance ends when you go through the doorway of the Stronghold. You are then teleported back to the Northern Islands, and Xoroth: Stronghold is unlocked.
Xoroth: Stronghold (81)
The Stronghold is a massive, fortified fel iron citadel that towers high into the atmostphere of Xoroth. The first part of the instance is through the lobby, which is guarded by Imps. The group then accends up a massive stairwell, patrolled by Imps and Lesser Fiends. Once you reach the top of the stairwell, you enter the study, which has the first boss - a Fiend Lieutenant. You then open a door at the end of the study, which opens you out to a long bridge that stretches over to a doorway to the main Citadel. The bridge is high above a sea of lava, but you cannot fall in. The bridge is manned by Imps. Once you get to the end you go through a doorway into the Citadel, where you clear a small room of Nathrezim soldiers, and face the second boss - a Nathrezim Captain, before ascending up another stairwell like the last into a large room where the Nathrezim leader resides, the last boss.
Argus: Arcane Sanctum (82)
Argus: Mac'Aree Barracks (83)
Argus: Mac'Aree Fortress (84)
Azeroth: Fourth War (85)
Hero Class: Demon Hunter
- Demon Hunters would start with 0 talent points at level 65.
- Creating a new Demon Hunter would start you at level 65 in Mount Hyjal.
- Uses the rage system.
The Demon Hunter can be considered a hybrid class that combines damage dealing and tanking. They will wear mail armor, and be able to dual wield. Any race can become a Demon Hunter. They begin in Mount Hyjal and go through a trial which takes them to level 66 by the end of it.
Other Features
Tatoo Shops
Tatooists would be available in all major cities, allowing you to apply a variety of images to your character. Tatoos could be removed, for double the price you payed for them. Talking to a Tatooist would bring up an interface much like a class trainer's. There would be different drop-down lists, such as: Head, Chest, Left arm, Back, etc. Different tatoos could be available depending on your level, class or race, and also rewards from quests or PvP.
Battleground: Plains of Argus
A new battleground based in Argus. There are four hills in the battleground. Controlling one adds 10 team score per 10 seconds. The first team to reach 2000 team score wins. To 'control' a hill your faction must have the dominant amount of players on it. For example, if 5 Alliance players stand on a hill and 3 Horde players stand on a hill, the Alliance controls it. If 12 Horde are on it and 4 Alliance are on it, the Horde controls it. If 5 Alliance are on it and 5 Horde are on it, no one controls it. In addition, every five minutes twenty elite level 60, 70 or 80 (depending on your bracket) Burning Legion demons spawn in the middle of the map, spanning out to attack nearby players of any faction.
Each team has 20 members ranging from levels 60-69 and 70-79, 80-85.
Allegiance PvP Ranks
You can obtain these ranks after completing the patch's main questline.
