Adaryn is a mercenary who is both a skilled blacksmith and a formidable warrior. He is mostly an Blood Spec Death Knight.

History Edit

Born and raised in the realm of Albion, he became a skilled armsman and joined the war between the three realms Albion, Hibernia, and Midgar. The object of this war was to obtain artifacts of power which were said to create a portal between time and space and allow travel to anywhere in the universe. For three long years this war raged on, no side ever gaining favor. Forts were destroyed, towers captured, soldiers killed, until finally Adaryn led a small group of other highly trained armsmen into the battle. Using their shields to defend one another, and moving as one unit, they broke through the opposing forces and claimed the artifacts. Upon bringing them all together, the legend proved true. A portal opened up to the far reaches of the universe. Chosen by the newly appointed king, Adaryn and his armsmen brethren entered the portal, unknowing where it would lead.

Upon exiting the stream of energies, Adaryn found himself alone in a dark forest clearing. During the journey through time and space the armsmen had been separated and scattered throughout the worlds. Deciding that he should look for a settlement, Adaryn started towards a path. Upon discovering a human town, he learned he was in a world called Azeroth, and had entered a place called Duskwood. He soon found out how much pain and suffering this world had endured and decided that he would stay here until he figured out what to do.

Once he had learned the basic geography of the Eastern Kingdoms he started off towards Stormwind. There he met Amberlin, a female rogue who was using her skills for the good of the Alliance. They soon fell in love and married, but it was not to last. Hearing Amberlin's tale of her father's murder by Lord Chaos and her vow to get revenge, Adaryn agreed that the two of them should be able to take the so-called lord down. They travelled to the plaguelands and found Chaos leading an army of undead against a Forsaken outpost. Taking the death knight by surprise, the two managed to greatly injure him. But as he retreated, Chaos fired a ray of death at Amberlin. Adaryn put up his shield to protect her and was blasted backwards off a cliff. He heard Amberlin's scream of horror as he plummeted downward towards the ground.

Lying on the ground unable to move his broken body, Adaryn readied himself for death. He felt he had failed Amberlin and only regretted that he would never see her again. just as he was about to fall into darkness, a cloaked man stepped in front of him. Adaryn, wincing with the pain, asked what he wanted and the stranger said he could save him for a small price. Adaryn was grateful, but wanted to know the price, even though he knew every second that passed he got closer to death. The cloaked man answered with two words: "Your soul." Adaryn, not sure if the man was joking or not, asked for clarification. The man talked of returning to Amberlin, of being able to stop her death from Chaos. To be able to return home. All at the cost of a meaningless soul. Adaryn, moved by the man's words, decided that he should let this man save him. The cloaked man laughed an evil, cruel laugh and cast a spell of darkness. Adaryn blacked out.

Adaryn awoke to a feeling of emptiness and hate. He was blinded by rage. He got up and tried to remember how he had gotten here. He figured it didn't matter, all that mattered was his service to The Lich King as a death knight. The cloaked man had been an agent of The Lich King and tricked Adaryn. The reign of terror Adaryn brought down was devastating, almost equal to that of Lord Chaos. Meanwhile, Amberlin had thought him dead and was in a state of grievance. She was staying at an Inn when The Scourge began attacking. Her sadness became furious anger and she ran out to kill every undead she saw. What she didn't expect was to run out right into Adaryn. She was in shock long enough for him to grab her and throw her into a burning wall. He began to approach her, laughing a soulless, heartless cackle. Amberlin couldn't believe it. She tried to plead with him, get him to remember their love, and in the end broke The Lich King's hold over him. He fell to his knees and cried, he apologized over and over. Amberlin forgave him, but the town was still under attack and she was needed. Adaryn, seeing the cloaked man for who he was and understanding the wretchedness of him, returned to his grim disposition, and charged.

Adaryn gave up his soul, and so can never be truly human again. But he has chosen to use his powers of death against Arthas. He would never be accepted back into the Alliance after what he had done as an agent of The Scourge, so he became a bounty hunter that worked for both factions. Never revealing his face, nobody except Amberlin knows his true identity.

Personality Edit

It could be said that Adaryn's face is made of stone, he never shows emotion unless he has to. He works for the highest bidder, but never chooses an employer of evil alignment. Even with his soul gone, his love for Amberlin has no bounds, and she can always find a way to make him smile.
