Female is a gender in the World of Warcraft universe. The only alternative in World of Warcraft is male. Typically, females are often the priests or mages and more caring gender of each race, but this is generally a stereotypical observation. Many renowned heroes are female priests and mages such as Tyrande Whisperwind, Aegwynn, and Jaina Proudmoore. In addition, night elf females almost exclusively form the Sentinel army of warriors; there are very few noted men among the Sentinels (indeed none, until recently). Throughout the game, females fill nearly all the same roles as males, but the predominance of patriarchy still persists in the game.

In the Warcraft universe in general, females fill many prominent lore roles.
