Demon Knights fight destruction with destruction, much like a Demon Hunter. However, they fight with a full set of plate armor, a big weapon, a faithful Dreadsteed and Fel Magic adapted to melee combat. Demon Knight can be compared to Paladins, only they wield the power of the Light, the Demon Knight wields the power of the Burning Legion. The ritual of creating a Demon Knight is very long and complex. Warriors first must train Combat and Magic, and then combine them into an unique style of battle. Then, those powers are augmented by a dread ritual: much like a Demon Hunter, a demon soul is implanted inside the knight, thus giving him/her an increased stamina, strenght and domain over fel magic. Demon Knights then start training their increased powers. Only then they seek out their own fate, while fighting the Burning Legion. Demon knights cast Fire and Shadow Enchantments on their weapons, thus giving them increased damage and/or speed. While a Warlock burn, fear and curses, Demon Knights burn, fear and slice/smash. There are no markable physical transformations on their bodies, only a small green-glow on their eyes and a bit of dark red in their skin.
The Burning Legion also employes Demon Knight, but to act as Sargeras's own corp of bounty hunters. The transformations are even worse and painful: an abducted or volunter warrior is quickly imbued with the fel soul. The effects are same, however, the brutal ritual can kill the warrior because he/she wasn't prepared. The physical changes are worse too: dark red skin, green-glowing eyes, horns, claws, hoofs and wings. Because of the ritual's brutality, the warrior's sanity is shatered, thus making him an easy slave to the Burning Legion.
Anyone can become a Demon Knight. They only need to master the arts of fel magic and melee battle. Demon Knights usually wield a two-handed sword, but any weapon (either be mace, axe, sword, dagger or fist weapon) can suffise. Humans, Night and Blood Elves and Orcs are the most common races to become demon knights, but anyone become one.
