Emerald Dream Race IdeasEdit

OgreEdit

LoreEdit

Long before the corruption of the Orcs, the mighty Ogres reigned supreme over Draenor. They were vastly intelligent and magically adept. Their cities held wonders that far surpassed that of what the gnomes or the magi of Dalaran ever dreamed of. Even the noble Draenei stood in awe of the ogre technology.

Though, like many magically adept races before them, their pursuits drew the attention of the Legion. Archimonde himself appeared before the leader of the ogres, Var'koz, in a dream. He promised ultimate power and knowledge should he pldege the ogres to his service. He brought this before the ogre's council of elders. They were unsure and so brought it before the spiritual leaders of the Draenei and Orcs. Velen and the Orc's High Shaman agreed on turning down Archimonde's offer. When Archimonde heard of this refusal, he stripped the ogres' natural intelligence and corrupted a select, cruel group of Ogres known as the Gronn.

Years passed. The Orcs became corrupted by the Legion and enslaved the Ogres. They were used as manual laborers and brute soldiers against the draenei. With the opening of the Dark Portal and the invasion of the human kingdom of Azeroth, another use was found for them. Gul'dan heard tales from Cho'gal of the former magical ability of the Ogres. Wanting to ude this power to further his own agenda. Sending a party of his most loyal forth to take the runestone at Caer darrow. He, with aid from Cho'gal, gave a few of the most powerful of ogres their former intelligence and magical ability. In secret, Cho'gal met with these Ogre Magi and informed them of their history. They devised a plan to escape the enslavement of the Horde and found their own nation and restore their race's dominance.

With the imprisonment of the Orcs after the Second War, the Ogres were finally freed of the Horde. Many of them stayed with the Steamwheedle goblins that they fought with and aloowed themselves to be guinea pigs in their experiments. The ogres had one side effect of the goblin's tinkering: restored intelligence.

Having found a treaty of alliance with the Humans of Stormwind and a homeland in the Northeast of Stonetalon, they are prepared to bring retribution upon the orcs fore their enslavement.

GoblinEdit

LoreEdit

"Goblins have been around for a long time, but the creatures were reclusive. Long ago, the goblins were a native race of the Isle of Kezan, and didn’t have a fraction of their current intelligence. There, the race lived as slaves to the jungle trolls, mining the subterranean tunnels where the trolls didn’t like going. However, soon the goblins unearthed a mineral known as kaja'mite (a strange mineral named after Mount Kajaro). The trolls valued the mineral, using it in voodoo rituals, and forced the subterranean goblins to continue mining the mineral. The goblins soon came to sense at some basic level that the mineral held enchantments unknown to the trolls. The goblins hoarded the mineral, using it to fashion crude objects of power deep within Undermine’s twisting tunnels. However, the mineral had some unexpected side effects, it causes the goblins to grow in intelligence. Soon, goblins developed technology, if just crude weapons and armor.

With their increased intelligence, goblin cunning rose, and soon the race enacted a plan to free themselves from the trolls. In little time, the goblins owned the Isle of Kezan, and declared Undermine their capital. Goblins rapidly expanded their knowledge of technology. Goblins created Azeroth’s first steam technologies. Rumors are that goblin technology back then was far more advanced than current dwarven technology. Goblins established themselves as master technicians, selling their goods on the open market. However, the power within the kaja’mite artifacts were finite, and soon dwindled, needing to be replaced. Eventually, kaja'mite ran out altogether. Desperate, goblins spread out into the world, attempting to find any pockets of kaja’mite they might have missed. Unfortunately, over the next few thousand years, up until roughly five hundred years before the First War, the goblins could find no further deposits of kaja’mite and goblin intelligence peaked. Without kaja'mite to strengthen their minds, goblins were unable to reproduce their brilliant technology or properly maintain it, and their works rapidly devolved into the crude juryrigged machines of today. The world began to fear the volatile machines, and sales dropped considerably. Goblins always had a love of money, however. With the loss of their intelligence and slow degradation of their technology, goblins embraced commerce. About two hundred years before the First War, the beginnings of Trade Fleets sailed out of Kezan and into the world"

Soon after the "mistake" made by the Steamwheedle Goblins during the second war, Trade King Rizzalfixx vowed to never make the same mistake as that of Trade Prince Steamwheedle. Years later, the third war came and went. Archomnde the Defiler was dead. The modern Horde and Alliance as we see them today are fully formed. Trade King Rizzalfixx has died and the crown taken up by the new Trade King Tinkerwerk, who quickly declared war on the Venture Co. Knowing he needed strong help, he sought out allies within the Horde. Thrall readily accepted, knowing without goblin technology the Horde would ultimately lose against the Alliance.
