Overview Edit

Ignaris Phoenixfire is a very young Blood Elf (formerly High Elf) paladin and actual Lord of Silvermoon. Although he is in charge of the whole city and kingdom, most political functions are handled by the council that ruled Silvermoon before him (composed of Lor'themar Theron, Ranger-General Brightwing and Grand Magister Rommath).

Ignaris is in charge of The Order of the Blood Knights (Having Lady Liadrin to rule in his place) and Silvermoon's defense. The lord has also strong beliefs in favour of the Horde, and has a lot of hatred for the Alliance's attitude towards the High Elves during the Third War. This hatred has led him to aid the Horde both military and economically against it.

In general, he is loved by his people, having no oppositors but a very small group of Kael'tha's subordinates (Grand Magister Rommath between them). During his reign he has fomented the friendship with the Forsaken, developing a very good relationship with the Banshee Queen. Most orcs also consider him as a "War-loving elf"

He can usually be seen in most battlegrounds, fighting for Silvermoon and the Horde. He is also found within Silvermoon's throne room, near his council, or patrolling the city on his Dragonhawk or Hawkstrider.

Biography Edit

Ignaris was born in hard, desperate times for the high elves, during the Third War. He was the son of Fa'rian and Ga'riel, and brother to Balar and Deldrin.

At the time, his father, a revered paladin of the blood-knights, was fulfilling an important role in the army of Silvermoon as High Lieutenant of the city, and was constantly busy keeping the incoming armies of the Scourge out of Silvermoon. His mother was a priestess who was also forced to fight for the nation.

As the battle turned more violent and the Scourge became stronger, Silvermoon began to torn apart. With betrayals from the inside and a blood-thirsty army on the outside, Silvermoon's only hope relied on it's army.

Sooner or later, however, their hopes were extinguished. The head of the rangers, Sylvanas Windrunner, was slain and resurrected by the Lich King as a banshee. The army kept fighting with honor, but their destinies were sealed.

Fa'rian fought bravely at the side of Lor'themar Theron and Halduron Brightwing, but he wasn't as strong as his companions and fell in combat. Ga'riel kept healing the wounded but she was also eventually doomed.

The kids, now orphans, decided that they had to take care of themselves, and, in order to survive, they fled. During their journey as nomads, they faced a lot of risks, which forced them to grab weapons for the first time of their lives.

One day, while they were fleeing from Eversong towards the Ghostlands, a batallion of undead surrounded them. Ignaris and Balar started fighting bravely, but that was not enough. They were barely kids, and the enemies were too much for them.

Ignaris ordered his brothers to leave while he distracted the Scourge, and they obeyed with tears in their eyes. He managed to slay some ghouls, but the undead kept swarming in. Suddenly, Ignaris was knocked in the back, and everything went dark.

Meanwhile, Silvermoon collapsed. The Scourge infiltrated in the city, and every single citizen was murdered. The army, without any sort of leader, did not know what to do. Sylvana's second in command, Lor'themar Theron, decided to take a group of rangers to the city and try to repel the invaders. Halduron Brightwing, amongst them, fought incredibly well, but the Scourge was invincible.

The rangers retreated, and tried to rejoin the remaining soldiers. However, the survivors of the army and the remaining citizens had either died or had fled. Theron then suggested to go south towards the Ghostlands and build a barricade there, in order to be more protected and cut the enemy's routes. However, when they reached the Ghostland's limit with Eversong, he noticed that a batallion of the Scourge was incoming from the south.

Halduron noticed that a small high elf child was lying unconsciously on the floor, and was surrounded by a group of undead berserkers. Quickly, Brightwing took out his bow and quiver and rescued the child.

When Ignaris opened his eyes, he thanked Halduron for saving his life and told him that he was the son of Fa'rian. Then the boy insisted on going alone to look for his brothers. However, the ranger did not allow him to do so, telling him that it was too dangerous for a child to wander alone, and that, in any case, they would search together.

Time passed, and Ignaris grew up. There were no signs of Deldrin or Balar. Ignaris was taught how to handle a sword by Halduron, and Lor'themar insisted on introducing him to the army. Showing incredible skill with the sword, the boy quickly became an important Lieutenant in Lor'themar's reduced group of rangers.

Magister Rommath, Kael'tha's Assistant, finally showed up with reinforcements. The magician brought new tactics to retake Silvermoon, as well as a message from the sun king: From now on, the remaining high elves were now called blood elves, in commemoration for their fallen brothers. With renewed hopes and a new army, the blood elves marched toward Silvermoon.

The battle was terrible, but the blood elves battled for their nation and won. Ignaris performed excellently well, and so did Theron, Brightwing and Rommath.

A huge celebration took place. Survivors from all Azeroth showed up and helped with the reconstruction of the once magnificent Silvermoon. Ignaris finally met with his brother and sister, who had survived by staying near the coast, and they all awaited for Kael'thas to come back from his studies to begin a new age of glory.

However, not everything shined as it seemed. Kael'thas betrayed the blood elves, and he intended to steal M'uru, the Blood elve's source of light. The Blood elves rebelled against their king, and he, once again, abandoned them. This time, for ever.

Confusion was reigning. The Blood elves were not organized at all. Some Blood elves remained loyal to Kael'thas and tried to steal M'uru again. Others remained secretly in contact with him.

Lor'themar Theron was procclaimed Temporary Lord of Quel'Thalas, with Grand Magister Rommath and the recently promoted Ranger-General Brightwing as seconds in command. With the three at head, Silvermoon managed to find order once again.

Ignaris had meanwhile joined the Blood Knight order as a paladin, and was considered Lady Liadrin's commander.

The blood elves also chose the Horde instead of the Alliance, and finally made peace with the Forsaken.

The elves still lacked a supreme authority, a true king. Kael'thas was the last of his dynasty, the Sunstriders. Lor'themar studied the Blood elve's noble family trees, looking for any sign of a survivor with blood of kings. He, however, was not successful.

Theron wanted the throne, but he couldn't just proclaim himself as the King of Silvermoon. Therefore, he secretly visited a draenei prophet and asked who the next ruler would be. The wise prophet replied:

"There is still a trace of noble blood, but it does not lie within the Sunstriders. You are eager to become king, but that is not your destiny. If you are honest and do the right thing, you will be rewarded."

Incredibly dissapointed, Theron left without saying a word. He wasn't sure about what to do. He was not destined to be a king, but what if the new king would drive the nation to it's destruction? Maybe he himself would make a much better ruler.

However, Lor'themar also remembered that he would end up being rewarded, and so decided to search for this lost king.

After weeks of investigation, Lor'themar found out that Ga'riel was actually related to the Sunstriders. Theron then realized that her kids, Ignaris, Balar and Deldrin, were actually nobles and rightful to the thrones.

Lor'themar then spoke to Ignaris, and asked him for a duel, to ensure that he could become a good military monarch. Ignaris, in less than ten seconds, disarmed the Lord of Quel'Thalas.

Ashamed of his loss, but actually impressed for Ignari's skill, then told him about his investigation. Ignaris, at first, wasn't convinced about the throne because of his age, and offered the throne to Theron.

Once again, he was tempted, but reminding what the prophet had said, he told Ignaris that he was destined to be a good ruler and that he had to accept.

The boy then accepted, but with one condition: he would not become the King, but Lord of Silvermoon, since he believed he was not ready yet. The young lord's first move was to form a new council, consisting of the elves that ruled Silvermoon before him (Theron, Brightwing and Rommath), which limited the ruler's political power in order to prevent his own corruption.

Ignaris granted Theron the council's leadership, and Lor'themar realized that this was the reward the prophet had spoken of. Brightwing remained as the Ranger-General of the Farstriders, and Rommath was still the Supervisor of all Magic.

Ignaris gave most of his political functions to Lor'themar Theron and the Council, but became the kingdom's military head. He started new campaigns against the Alliance, and increased the size and skill of the army. Ignaris also became the Knight-Commander of the Blood Knights, and the High Warlord in charge of Silvermoon's defense.

The kingdom's economy also grew to incredible limits. The lord opened new sea commerce routes, and began new excavation sites. He himself became an important miner and blacksmith. Silvermoon's city doors were opened to the goblins to import new kinds of materials and, believe it or not, the commerce turned out to be incredibly rewarding for both races.

Currently, Ignaris can usually be seen in most battlegrounds, fighting for the Horde and his nation. He is also regularily found within Silvermoon's throne room, or performing his daily patrolling through the city to ensure it's general safety.

One thing, however, is certain. The draenei prophet, who also ended up leading his own race, was right: Ignaris led Silvermoon to a new age of splendor and glory.

Appearance Edit

Ignaris is a rather tall blood elf, and a well-built one. He is considered to be slim for a paladin, but he is also incredibly strong.

He has long, golden hair with a fox-tail, and typical green eyes. He has no facial hair.

He is always wearing heavy plate armor, but does not like to wear helmets or cloaks. He is always wearing his Royal Lord's Tabard, and is usually found riding his Thalassian Charger or his Dragonhawk

Finally, Ignaris, being a fan of the Retribution Paladin's ways, always carries his Two-handed Waraxe with him.
