This is a questing guide detailing the best method to obtain and complete quests in Ashenvale.

This guide is meant to show a player the most efficient way to complete all quests available for a particular zone. If you know of a better order or method to accomplish this, your input is welcome (in fact, greatly desired). For major changes, feel free to edit, but make a note in the talk page as to your reasoning.

Horde questing guide (LVL 18-30)

Journey to Splintertree Post

You will enter Ashenvale from the Barrens to the south. As you cross the border, you will come across an outpost known as the Mor'shan Rampart.

• Speak with  Kadrak to turn in  [19] Report to Kadrak (if you have it), and pick up  [19] The Warsong Reports.

Travel north along the road until you come to a split. Take the eastern fork. You will eventually come to another branch to the north, guarded by a tower. Following the northern branch a short way will take you into Splintertree Post.

• Speak with the flight master to get the flight path here.
• Pick up the following quests from the area:
  •  [30] The Lost Pages - you will be collecting pages to complete this quest throughout your time in Ashenvale. These pages also often make their way to the auction house, so check there if you are missing any by the end.
  •  [24] Ashenvale Outrunners
  •  [27] Warsong Supplies
  •  [26] Satyr Horns
  •  [20] The Ashenvale Hunt (completes the quest)
  •  [25] Stonetalon Standstill
• Turn in:
  •  [20] Report to Splintertree Post (if you have it)
• Speak with the  Warsong Scout at the bottom of the tower guarding the entrance to the post to receive the  [Warsong Scout Update].

The Zoram Strand

While Splintertree Post is a major questing hub for this area, the early quests will originate from the Zoram Strand. To get to the Zoram'gar Outpost, head out of Splintertree and follow the road west. Stay on this road until you reach the night elf settlement, Astranaar. You will need to bypass Astranaar by either walking around the lake or swimming through it. Return to the road when you can and continue east. Eventually the road will turn north and pass another night elf outpost known as Maestra's Post. A faded path branches west just after the post - follow it to the coast. Zoram'gar Outpost, the Horde outpost in the area, can be found on the southern tip of the coastline.

• Pick up the flight path.
• Pick up all quests available here except the one from  Muglash.
• Speak with the  Warsong Runner at the bottom of the tower guarding the entrance to the post to receive the  [Warsong Runner Update].
• Hunt naga, moving up the coast. When you reach the northern tip of the coast, you should see a stone structure. Enter the structure and dive into the water there. You will surface in a cave underground.
• Along the walls in this area, you will see saphires. Loot them to complete  [22] The Essence of Aku'Mai.
• Kill  Blackfathom Tide Priestess until you find a  [Damp Note] and use it to start  [26] Allegiance to the Old Gods
• Return to Zoram'gar, killing any remaining naga needed to complete  [19] Naga at the Zoram Strand along the way. Turn in completed quests, accepting any follow-ups.
• Once you are prepared, speak with  Muglash to begin the escort quest. You may want a group for this, though it can be soloed. Be prepared to deal with up to three mobs at once, with the help of the NPC.

Thistlefur Hold

Pick up quests: Make sure you have the following quests before heading out

Zoram'gar Outpost

•  [24] Between a Rock and a Thistlefur from  Karang Amakkar
•  [24] Troll Charm from  Mitsuwa

Splintertree Post

•  [27] Warsong Supplies from  Locke Okarr

Getting there: Head east until you find the road near Maestra's Post, then turn south. Shortly after the road turns to the east, you will see a faded trail branch off to the north. The trail leads into Thistlefur Village.

• Move north through the village, killing  Thistlefur Avengers and  Thistlefur Shaman for  [24] Between a Rock and a Thistlefur. Watch for  [Logging Rope], which drops from these furbolgs.
• Complete  [24] Troll Charm: When you reach the northernmost part of the village, you will come to a cave known as Thistlefur Hold. Enter the cave and search for chests, which will contain  [Troll Charm].
• Pick up and complete  [24] Freedom to Ruul: Once you have enough charms, return to the entrance and take the downward sloping branch. You should reach a large cavern with a lake and a caged bear. When you are ready, speak with the bear ( Ruul Snowhoof) to begin an escort quest. This quest can be fairly difficult, so you may want to gather a group before attempting to complete it. If you are planning on trying it solo, clearing out the mobs between Ruul and the cave exit is a good idea (the mobs outside will respawn before you get to them). There will be two ambushes during the escort - one inside the cave and one as you are leaving. In addition, Ruul walks straight towards a camp of furbolgs once outside, with the possibility of several patrols. Try to pull any groups that may intercept you ahead of time.
• Complete  [24] Between a Rock and a Thistlefur and get  [Logging Rope] for  [27] Warsong Supplies, if you haven't already.

Turn in quests: Once all quests are complete, return to Zoram'gar Outpost and turn in  [24] Between a Rock and a Thistlefur and  [24] Troll Charm. You can turn the other two in when you next visit Splintertree Post, but you may want to venture into Blackfathom Deeps before leaving the coastline.

Blackfathom Deeps

Main article: Blackfathom Deeps

This is an excellent time to try the instanced dungeon Blackfathom Deeps. You have completed the only prerequisite quest for the dungeon, and should be able to get both  [26D] Allegiance to the Old Gods (2) and  [27D] Amongst the Ruins from Zoram'gar Outpost if you don't already have them. You will need a full group of level 20-30 characters to be successful in the dungeon. There are a few tricks to this place, so check out the walkthrough for some pointers.

Pick up quests: Be sure to have the following before heading out:

Splintertree Post:

•  [24] Ashenvale Outrunners from  Kuray'bin
•  [26] Satyr Horns from  Pixel
•  [27] Warsong Supplies from  Locke Okarr

• Head to the area south of Splintertree Post. Move southwest through this area, towards Silverwing Outpost, killing any  Ashenvale Outrunners you find. They are stealthed, and can be hard to see, so look carefully.
• Pick up and complete  [24] Torek's Assault: When you reach the road, you should find  Torek and his warriors across from Silverwing Outpost. Speak with him to begin the quest. This one can be difficult, as you will be fighting many night elves at once. Allow Tordek's warriors to get most of the aggro, or bring along a friend.
• Complete  [24] Ashenvale Outrunners: Move back towards Splintertree Post, killing any  Ashenvale Outrunners you have left along the way.
• Complete  [26] Satyr Horns and get  [Warsong Oil]: Follow the road just south of Splintertree to the east. You will cross a bridge and see a satyr camp to the north. Kill satyrs here for their  [Satyr Horns] and watch for the  [Warsong Oil], which spawns as an object in this camp.

Turn in quests: Once all quests are complete, return to Splintertree Post and turn in  [24] Torek's Assault,  [24] Ashenvale Outrunners, and  [26] Satyr Horns. This is also a good time to make a trip to Booty Bay to get the  [Warsong Axe Shipment], and to ask an engineer to create a  [Deadly Blunderbuss] (these are also usually available in the auction house) to be turned in for the  [Warsong Saw Blades]. With these items in hand, you should be able to turn in  [27] Warsong Supplies, which rewards you choice of three rare quality items.
