Ullr has no memory of his parents. He was born some years before the opening of the Dark Portal, possibly in the Fields of Farahlon, and his father was killed hunting draenei when Ullr was just a few weeks old. Shortly after this his mother abandoned the baby in her grief and went wandering into the wilderness, never to be seen again. Left in the cold high up in the spires of the Blades Edge Mountains, Ullr would have perished if it were not for the brave actions of a single hunting ogre. Upon finding the orc, the ogre would have killed him and brought his head back to the gronn. But something made him stop and question the orders that Gruul had given - the slaughter of all non-ogres found within his realm. Gazing upon Ullr the ogre experienced an emotion that no ogre had ever felt before: pity. But he knew that he could not bring the baby back to Bladespire Hold, and so was forced to leave it behind as he continued on the hunt.
However Jho'nass, for that was the ogres name, felt he could not just forget about it, and so began to bring food for it every few days. He managed to find a suitable cave to hide Ullr in, with a fire at the entrance to keep the orc warm and the wild animals out. For weeks Ullr managed to survive like this, but even an orcish child cannot live like this for long, and soon he picked up a dreadful infection which would have killed him if left untreated. So Jho'nass made the decision to abandon his people and flee into the mountains. Unfortunately the gronn, in particular Gorgrom son of Gruul, had noticed his unusual excursions and set a watch on his movements. As Jho'nass left Bladespire Hold for the final time he came under attack by many other ogres, including some of his friends, and was eventually cast off a precipice and left for dead.
