The Southern Regiment is one of many smaller regiments fielded by the Order of the Golden Law, based out of Stormwind. Each regiment serves its own purpose, whether it be fighting against the undead, demons, cultists or working to provide support, aid or relief to allied orders all throughout Azeroth.
The Southern Regiment, was launched with the intention of hunting down and bringing to justice Victor Marrow, a necromancer and member of the Cult of the Damned, who only recently has returned with the intention of continuing the work started in the Third War at the emergence of the Scourge.
The Southern Regiment struggled and fought beside their allies in the Blasted Lands, the Swamp of Sorrows and Deadwind Pass for several months - finally withdrawing after shattering Victor Marrow's undead forces. Though Victor is still on the run - striking from the shadows at any he can - Order of the Golden Law stands united beside its allies - always on the watch for Victor's return.
Expedition Settlements Edit
The Southern Regiment's main base of operations was Nethergarde Keep in the Blasted Lands, but also operated out of Marshtide Watch in the Swamp of Sorrows and Darkshire, nestled deep within Duskwood. Smaller camps, all throughout the southern regions were also utilized.
Notable Members Edit
Allied Forces Edit
While stationed at Nethergarde Keep, Order of the Golden Law worked closely beside the soldiers and nobility of House Haethon, also based out of Nethergarde Keep. The White Sigil, Temple and the League of Rangers guild also provided heavy support - along with a dozen non-guilded roleplayers.
Plot Line Edit
Having been slain by the [[Paladin] Arthur Greatmane at the end of the Third War, Victor Marrow's intentions and efforts to bring the undead plague to Stormwind were halted - though in the final battle, Arhtur also lost his life. Years later, in the mists of chaos as the war between the Alliance and Horde rages on across Pandaria and all of the world, Victor's loyal followers - having been waiting and preparing - sought out his body, and that of the slain Paladin, Arthur Greatmane. Recovering the bodies - Victor was raised using darker magics - returning to fulfill his original purpose.
Crafting new and terrifying abominations and creatures - Victor moved to unleash his forces across the south of the Eastern Kingdoms, countered, initially, only by the Order of the Golden Law. With time and desperation, more and more allies came to the aid of the Order, and soon a fully fledged army stood against Victor and his forces.
In the closing days of the conflict, as the final showdown erupted throughout the broken cemeteries of Duskwood, Victor resurrected the slain Paladin with the unwitting aid of the Order and its allies. Fleeing as his forces were broken - Victor took his new Death Knight, Victor Marrow, and fled the woods of Duskwood, leaving the Order and its allies to destroy the last of the undead, but leaving their task incomplete. Victor, and now a powerful Death Knight, were on the loose - their plans and intentions known; to create chaos and take lives.
Going underground, it has become harder and harder to locate Victor Marrow and Arthur Greatmane, but their forces have been spotted even in Kalimdor, as well as all over the Eastern Kingdoms. So far - their aim has been to attack the graveyards and crypts of old - raising into undeath the slain heroes of the First War, Second War, Third War and even the more recent conflicts on Azeroth. The fight, and the hunt, continues.
The Southern Regiment was story campaign hosted by the Order of the Golden Law on Wyrmrest_Accord_US server, Alliance side. Though story content from the Regiment continues, the actual Regiment itself has been retired and reformed. For information on the latest Regiment, see the Northern Regiment page.
