The Monastery Cellars is the fifth wing of the Scarlet Monastery. It is available at level 68 as an heroic-only instance, which you get attuned for by doing a series of quest in the other four wings. The instance consists of 3 sub-wings; The Old Chapel, The Brewery, The Old Barracks. Each wing has their own types of mobs and one boss. The last part, "The Old Chapel" also features a small event that spawns a brand new quest chain about the Wellstorm bloodline.

Attunement and EntranceEdit

HordeEdit

The attunement is quite easy and can be done in a few hours with a solid group. Each endboss in the four wings of the Monastery; Armory, Graveyard, Cathedral and Library, drops a key fragment that can be put together into a key. The finished key stars the quest "The Hidden Cellars". Deliver this quest to the NPC, Thomas Malone in the Undercity. He can be located in the War Quarter. He will give you instructions on how to get to the cellars, and he will give you the key that you need to enter.

AllianceEdit

The alliance attunement is similar, but the NPC that gives the key, Elwood Jake, resides in a hut just across the border to Western Plaguelands, west of the road.

EntranceEdit

The Entrance to the Cellars is a hidden door (it can only be seen when you have the key in your backpack) in the Fairbanks-room in the Cathedral Wing.

The Taran Wellstorm EventEdit

After the players kill the final boss, Taran Wellstorm, his wife, Jaena Wellstorm will come running out from the confession box to the left of Taran's altar. She will ressurect him, and if you let him live, he will give you a quest. If you proceed to killing him again, you will not recieve any more loot, you will not recieve any quests, and Jaena will give all players a debuff, before teleporting them out of the instance.

However, if you let him live, he will turn into a friendly NPC and tell you about the Old Chapel, about the Wellstorm bloodline, and how the corrupted Scarlet Crusade destroyed them. He will speak for 3-4 minutes before giving you the quest "The Wellstorm will rise again!"

Wrath of the ScarletEdit

Decreases all stats by 25% for 30 minutes. Also reduces moving speed by 10% and increases casting time by 15%. This effect persists through death.
