I was once like you. Now I am a shadow. Dark, and a copy of a greater thing. The greater thing was what I once was...

Shadowous was once a sailor and hunter in the town of Auberdine. He had a wolf named Whitepaw and life was good in the dreary town. One day when he was helping unloading his ship's goods, he slipped off the pier and into the dark water. An undertoe was starting to sweep him away. The Night Elf sailors just stared down at him, muttering "May Elune be with him", and the few other races of the sailors began to run to call the town's guards. One person took action, not just words. Plunging into the ice cold water swimming to keep up with the undertoe, the stranger grabbed Thaldren' leg and and pulled him to the shore. When he was revived, Thaldren thanked the stranger by taking him a bar. Together the 2 had a good time, when Thaldren asked him if he would like to remove the cap that completely covered his rescuer's face. The stranger did and pale skin clear blue eys stared right back at him. His rescuer was a High Elf...

The bar turned to see him, and the innkeeper kicked him out. The Elf told him his name was Maldris Sunwalker, and that he was an adventurer who stopped to replentish his supplies. Thaldren, forever in his debt, asked if he could join him. Maldris accepted and the two took the next boat out of the town, never to return together.

For years the two (including snowpaw) went on adventures, making and losing money. One day to gather some jewels, they headed up to the Blasted Lands. While strolling along on their mounts, a demon appeared. He brutally slaughtered Maldris and Snoepaw, and thought he had killed Thaldren. He didn't. Big mistake.

Hellfire Peninsula, 20 years later "It is time. You weaklings will now join my ranks and hunt down the demons who have plagued us since their coming 10,000 years ago." A Night Elf with a blindfold, kilt, no shirt, and covered in tattos was the one talking to a group of 20 or so men with the same kilts, and no shirts. Thaldren was around the 8th in the row, with a stern face, though nervous on the inside. The afternoon of that night he had taken down a fiend and had sealed up the demon's essence in a dagger which was in his hand, glowing a bright fel green. Their leader instructed them it was time and they gathered around a bonfire. They gathered around, and one by one they knelt down, heated their daggers, and plunged it into each of their eye sockets, ripping their eyes out. It was Thaldren's turn. He knelt down, heated the glowing green dagger and plunged it into each of his eye sockets. He did not show any sign of pain and instead of standing up he said; Galtak sheek Monash!, which their leader translated to "All hail Shadowous". The demon hunters handed him a red blindfold which all the others had received, which my magic, turned a deep, souless black. He stood up, and the others behind went next.

The Wizard's Sanctum in Stormwind, 1 year later A blonde elf was talking to a blindfolded night elf with glowing green tattoos and 2 glaives in his hands.

  • Elf-So YOU, a kaldorei, want to become on of me, a Quel'dorei by practing your people's worst enemy, arcane magic?

In a deep yet doleful voice he nodded and said "That is correct"

  • The mage responded in a most jubilant voice "OOh an experiment. I have much to teach you."

So for months Elsharin taught him how to use the magics of the arcane and fire. After 9 months time he had become an honorary arcane wizard. In this time his purple skin became a peach color. However, his white hair stayed white. He was now a High Elf, just as his brother was. Finally after another years time he spent honing his demon hunter abilities to work perfectly insinc with his new mage powers of fire and the arcane, he left. Now it was time for him to rid the world of demons, and hunt down his blood enemy...

Light's Hope Chapel, 30 years later He could see him, the demon. Except to the people in the area, he looked like a priest. The priest went from a fast walk to an inhuman sprint. At last he stopped as he was cornered by the elf pursuing him. He called the guards who did show up. Able to dodge all of the guard's slashes, Shield bashes, and the "priest"'s shadow bolts, the elf casually walked up to the "man" and stabbed him. At this, the "priest" turned into a dreadlord, and died. In shock, the Argent Dawn Guards called the citizens to tell them one of their most trusted priest was actually an infiltrating demon. A paladin walked up to the elf

"Thank you kind sir, thank you so much. We were just about to give this thing some documents, our secrets which could have brought the downfall of the Argent Dawn. Take this bag of gold and this talisman, it will protect you."

The elf relunctly accepted the money and talisman, and the townsfolk left to finish their business. A green eyed elf walked up to him.

"Are you going to drink that?" He said as he pointed to the body. "What do you mean" Shadowous said confused "Why feed off his energy of course. You're a demon hunter judging by your pants, tattoos, blindfold, and warglaives who should be feeding off of him. And a High Elf. You need to drain him more then I do." The other elf showed him how, and the two feasted together. Invigorated with a powerful energy, Shadowous left with more power, and a buzz.

Life carried on like this for another century or so Shadowous. With each passing year, he grew more and more depressed, distanced, and moody. That is until he heard some news...

Stormwind City, 200 later "Have ya 'erd, an enormis demon's 'been plowing through thee Outlands killin' efreethin' in 'is path." A peasant said. "Oy I 'erd that too. 'Erd he lives on some platoe in 'Adowmoon Valley. 'Erd he destroyed 'undreds of settlements and kirred 'ousands of peopow before that. Erd one toim, 'ee was even spotted in the Blasted Lands. Spooky ain't it?" I 'erd a woman say E's got green markins all over 'is body and 'as a UGE black sword. Even heard he's quoit powerful, too" A woman said

As soon as Shadowous said that, he knew it was Him. He set off for the platuea. He saw it. It was a black plateau with a dark mauve-ish purple shining from beneath its cracked surface. He climbed it using his bare hands. The demon had his back to him. Shadowous knew it was Him. He flashed back to the day in the Blasted Lands. He charged it with the upper hand of surprise. Shocked, the demon turned around and was slashed with the demon hunter's blades. Normally that would have killed even a very powerful demon, but this one must of been too powerful... An epic battle ensued for hours, glaive and claw meeting dagger and sword. It started to rain, which was very odd since it never rained there. Lightning started

to crack from the sky. Another three hours passed with no one winning. The demon shot out his wing tip, causing Shadowous to fall. The beast raised his sword ready to strike when the spirit of Maldris himself came down from the Heavens, only to enter Shadowous' body.

"Well look what you've become", a voice which sounded just like Maldris said quite proudly. "It's time we end this, not just for you or me, but for the world..." At this Thaldren's body shot up just in time to parry the demon's stab. With god-like agility, Thadren shot up and slashed the abberation from it's left ear, to the bridge of his nose, to his right ear. Howling in pain, it dropped his sword and tripped. Thaldren's blades started to glow with a holy light. He jumped up once again with inhuman speed, and beheaded the monster. It was finally over....

The spirit of Maldris floated from Shadowous' body. "Now it is over, your vengeance slated. God has offered to cure you, and you can rest, I can rest, the whole world can rest. "Will you return to life and snowpaw?" Thaldren said with great hope. "No, but he'd like to see you..." At this the black clouds above the plateau parted, and Snowpaw leaped out to his master and started barking happliy while licking his master's face. For hours but which seemed like minutes, the three sat down and enjoyed talking. "So what's your decision?" said Maldris. "If you two can't join me and there are demons about, I can never rest..." said Shadowous Maldris started to smile "You have passed the test. You have decided to give your life to rid the world the world of these monsters. May God watch over you. Maldris handed Thaldren a small truesilver box on a gold chain. In it were two figurines of Maldris, Thaldren, and Snowpaw chatting and and all smiling. "The necklace will never leave you, brother. We must go, but NEVER forget us, just as God himself will never forget what you've done for the world. Now go, you have work to do." With tears streaming from both of the men's cheeks, and the wolf whimpering to get back with his master, Maldris and Snowpaw ascended back to Heaven. "Someday we'll meet again, brother. Just not too soooooooooooon" The voice trailed off, and for the first time in the history of all worlds for a few seconds, the Sun shined, and the world was at rest.

For awhile, Thaldren wept. After he began to meditate, thinking of all the times the three had together which he could never forget. Then he stood up, pulled out his dagger, and using the techniques of the hunters in the trees, he removed the skull from the demon's skin and split it in half, which using the skin as cloth to rest the split skull on, he sewed the bits and pieces together to make shoulder pads. At this he descended from the plateau and left, for wherever the world would take him.

The Gathering

Something big was happening...

Near the Sunwell Plateau, the Barrens, the Arathi Highlands, and Feralas, enormous comets were seen hurtling through the sky. These were no ordinary comets. Fel fire eminated from them, and when they were seen in the sky, a purple fire was around each of them. These look just like the first few comets the Burning Legion sent to Azeroth, with demons in them. Nations dispatched soldiers, scientists, and even some arcanists to see what exactly was in them. Only a handful of the groups survived, and they were half dead. The demon hunters knew what was happening, and they were starting to gather.

A subterranean cavern somewhere in Booty Bay, 500 years after where we left off.

A large group of around 50 or so was in an underground cavern. The group was mainly Elves though with skatterings of humans, and even an orc and a gnome. 'This is preposterous! Those comets DO have demons in them, what else would a fel fire engulfed rocket from the sky be holding!? A red skinned orc said. I agree. I followed an Alliance battalion to see what was in those comets, and I saw an ENORMOUS blue fiend. Knowing I was out-matched, I fled. With my own "eyes" I saw the beast fly up into the sky, and fy away. Besides, who are YOU to say there's no demon in those rocks, whelp! All I'm saying is, the only knowledge we have of there actually being demons in there is from a cowardous midget, who probably couldn't even see over the head's of the humans.

All of a sudden, the only in the cavern was kicked open, and the hero of our story stepped in and stabbed the elven demon hunter who had been talking. With glaives ready the demon hunters circled Shadowous, demanding answers. The elf before was a slave to the demons who had left. He was trying to become one. He was trying to stop the questioning of what was in those comets, but as the lady said, those are demons. I know, I killed the four demons' brother, 500 years ago...

Everyone started to gasp and began asking multiple questions at once.

SILENCE! Each of these demons came here searching for me. Each one will find me. I can not kill them all myself, I need help. Who will help me!? At first no one accepted until a the little gnome peeped up. I will Then the red orc said I will Two Elven brothers exclaimed at once "I will" And finally a human said I shall So the six left the cavern and to the closest demon to them, the one in the Barrens...

THE BARRENS, 1 DAY LATER The demon had formed a high throne from the comet. He was sitting in it, and he had company. Gazzelles, quillboar, tallstriders, Tauren, orcs, goblins, giraffes, zhevras, and even some humans had been captured, and were imprisoned in the crater the comet had formed. One by one he plunged his claw into the cage, and swallowed each of his prisoners. Each time he did this, he grew and grew. By the time our six heroes had found him, he was bulging from the throne. He saw and started to lob smaller, green comets at them. He started to speak in a slurred, throaty voice which besides the slurriness, sounded excactly like his brother's.

SHO I'VE FOUND YOOOOU. OOOOHHH HOOOO HHOOOOO HOOO HOO!!! MY BROTH-HERZ WILL BE PLECHEED. I SHALL ENJOY FEACHSTING OFF OF YOU!!!

At the the comets started to grow, and they became infernals. They all charged the 6, and they all fought while tubby on the throne lobbed more and more comets, till there was literraly 2-300 of them. While in the fighting, Shadowous used his stealthing abilities and crept up to the throne while tubba was feasting on a family of quillboars.

HUH1?

LOP!. The demon's head was separated from his shoulders. Shadowous cooly took the sceptre the demon had at his side, and used it to command the infernals to destroy each other. With them out of the way, he gave the gnome demon hunter the head and said. Here, kid. Make that skull into the one of these. He took of his shoulder pads, and let her examine them so she could fasten a pair of shoulder pads like he did. They left for Feralas.

FERALAS, 5 DAYS LATER.

Shadowous knew where the demon would have gone, to the source of the greatest magic in the area, Eldre'thalas. As they kept getting closer and closer to it, they noticded animals and ogres fleeing the area. They also noticed that a settlement of Night Elves had been burned, with nothing but some looting ogres nearby. They were there. The comet had landed almost in the center of the fortification. They went onward. They were met by a gruesome sight. All of the dead here had been raised, and the demons had apparently sided with Him. They were able to fend them off and once again press onward. They were met with a very "odd" sight. The Highborne living here had not been enslaved by Him, infact quite the contrary. They had harnessed him to what they had harnessed their previous demon with, except now the other elves were draning the corpse with the crystal shards that had broken off of the comet. The demon hunters told the Shen'dralar that they had come here to kill him, and they did just that. Once again lopping off the head of the demon, he gave to the orcish demon hunter who he found out was named Kor'kron. The gnome (who everyone found out was named Lina) a mage, and she was able to freeze their exit way which saved their lives. So now the two left again for the Arathi Highlands...

THE ARATHI HIGHLANDS, 3 DAYS LATER
