Warcraft Experience

Warcraft I (1994-1996) Edit

I can vaguely recall the nights I spent playing the original Warcraft with my younger brothers and a couple of friends. We never really got into the campaigns, just played multiplayer games over our 28.8 modem or via serial link.

Warcraft II (1996-2002) Edit

Around 1996, my brothers, friends and I bought the newly-released Warcraft II. Again, we played countless multiplayer games via modem or serial link. Also, I believe this was about the time we discovered Kali.

One of my brothers, nicknamed Wreck, started a "clan" around this time, named LWW (League of Warcraft Warriors). They played most of their games through Kali. Wreck made several custom maps for the clan to use in games. His most popular was PoG (Plains of Grass), basically taking Blizzard's Plains of Snow map and making it a grass map, and adding more trees/gold mines. Today, LWW exists as a World of Warcraft guild. You can visit their site or look them up on The Armory.

I believe it was during this time that I also created my first Fate's Fury map. FF quickly built a reputation among my friends. Any map titled Fate's Fury, in any game, was known to be a crazy challenge.

Warcraft III (2006-?) Edit

I didn't officially begin playing Warcraft III until after playing WoW for some time. I may still have the receipt somewhere, with the date I bought it. Anyhow, my sole reason for playing Warcraft III was to "fill the gap" between Warcraft II and WoW. The Warcraft universe is rich in lore, and that is one thing that really helps me get into a game or story. Replaying II and III after spending considerable time in WoW—seeing familiar names and places—was just awesome to me.

Recently, I began tinkering with the World Editor. Rather than try to create a simple "beginner" map, I dove right in and started working on something a bit more detailed. Specifically, a replica of Westfall.

World of Warcraft (2004-?) Edit

Released 23 November 2004. My brother, Wreck, and a close friend began playing that day. I caved in three weeks later and decided to give it a try, on 14 December 2004. My very first character was a male Human Rogue named Grenneth. I got to level 13 before becoming rather bored with it. There was just something about melee that I didn't like. On 18 December, I deleted him and started the character most people would come to know me by: a female Human Warlock named Shace.

I won't go into detail here about my characters; I've had too many. Read more about them in my Characters section to the right.

I suppose I'm fortunate to have experienced a lot of what the game has to offer. I've seen every zone. I've completed every non-raid instance. I've raided everything from Molten Core to Icecrown Citadel with the exception of Sunwell Plateau.

I've been with several guilds over the years. LWW being the first, followed by starting my own called Strength and Honour. It was a successful guild and lasted about six months. It fell apart when the much larger raiding guilds were taking off and looking for high-level players.

My members would move on to guilds such as Tears of Vengeance, the first that I joined following the disbanding of S&H. ToV was too raid-oriented for me. I left them and found a more casual guild.

As I write this, on 13 August 2010, I am currently in Sleep Walkers on the Alliance side. My Horde characters are guildless, as the guild I was in (Graveyard Raiders) turned elitist and kicked most people out. I design small but useful add-ons whenever I have the time and motivation. A list of projects, past and present, can be seen to the right.
What Am I Doing Here?

My visits to WoWWiki are usually necessitated by the need to look up something related to the API. With my current project, RaidMaster, using many of the game's built-in functions, the API sections here have been an invaluable tool in its development. I'm still learning some new things here and there about programming add-ons, but I no longer feel like a newbie. My hopes are that RaidMaster will become widely used. It certainly has that potential. The friends I have explained RaidMaster's purposes with support it 100%, and tell me that it is a great idea.

Occasionally, I will browse other areas such as lore and upcoming changes to the game. Also, I will periodically find typos and correct them. I'm somewhat a perfectionist, but at the same time I feel that information, such as a wiki, should be kept neat. It is much easier to read and understand when written properly.

I'm a quiet person; I mostly keep to myself. I'm not a popular person. My presence changes little and affects few. I may not have much to contribute to this wiki or to the Warcraft community. But when I do contribute, I try to make it count. On my server, I do small things such as offer free enchants to those that supply the reagents, and give free portals to anyone needing them. Sometimes I'll even give someone free items, such as lower-level potions, cloth and other materials, without asking anything in return. It's not much, but I do enjoy helping others when I am able.

So, when I ask myself, "What am I doing here?"... I'm just here to help in any way I can.

Callise IconSmall Blood Elf FemaleUi-charactercreate-classes priest
Callise is my first-ever "serious" Horde character. I had used the name several times for other Blood Elf alts on various realms before deciding to make a main Horde alt on Kargath. Believe it or not, I came up with the name myself. However, little did I know back then that "callise" (or something very close to it) is actually a French swear word! But, I like the name too much to change it, and so it stays.

Nevada had been my main character for a very long time. However, since I play Horde now, that could change. Prior to Nevada being 60, Shace was my main. Most people knew me by that name and a few still call me that. At one point I decided to go a little further and make Shace and Nevada sisters, Shace being the elder, of course. Nevada is quiet, shy, and enjoys helping and healing others. Her abilities are exceptional.

My second-ever character, and first-ever 60. Shace is Nevada's older sister. The name, Shace, was first used by me in The Sims On-line. I tried to design the WoW version as close as possible. However, near the release of TBC, after deciding that Shace and Nevada were sisters, I remade her. Shortly after, she was remade once more, and now, this "Shace 2.1" that you see today is the final version.
