Ovistine Lighthammer was born in Stormwind, daughter to Nancie Lighthammer and Geoffar Lighthammer. Following in her mother's footsteps, Ovistine began her studies at the Cathedral of Light and embarked on a career as an adventuring priest.

Her mentor in her early days was Agnes Dea, a priestess of light and shadow. Following in Agnes's footsteps, Ovistine tried to forge her path using the powers of shadow, but after discovering the dwarves' common history with the troggs in Uldaman, Ovistine decided shadow powers were a wee bit too risky for a dwarf to use in common life ("You never know! One day you're flaying something's mind, the next day you wake up a trogg! It could happen!!"), and set herself on a more disciplined path.

Along with trying the ways of shadow, for a while Ovistine also tried the ways of tailoring. The results were wretched (Ovistine claims the only person who ever found a use for one of her robes was a hunchbacked gnome, and even then it was baggy in places and bunchy in others), and so after some deliberation, she took up tinkering, like her father. She's now a Gnomish Engineer, and is particularly proud of her Explosive Sheep. She's none too certain about that Ultrasafe Transporter, though.

Eventually, Ovistine came to join Agnes in the Murloc Assassins, making friends with elves such as Faelar, Karrec, and Valinar, humans such as Vaelen, Myxomatosis and the young priest Almira, and a few fellow dwarves such as Leianna and Volm. Outside her guild, she's most often found in the company of Alishe, Prydion, Homrend, Piezo, Jingo, Macmoran, Rockforge, Tealathia, Tsuli, Calen'braga and many others.

Her steed of choice is a Swift White Ram by the name of Wilhelm.

Ovistine's motto is "We can do it! We're INVINCIBLE!"
