Birth and Early Life
Shockna was born in the town of Sunnyglade 24 years before the opening of the Dark Portal. Never a weak one, he trained vigorously in the arts of Swordsmanship from a very young age, determined to eventually become a Knight, join the Brotherhood of the Horse, and defend the court of King Adamant Wrynn III with honor. After a rather uneventful childhood, Shockna was accepted into the Brotherhood, and got to know most of the members very well, most notably the future Regent Lord of Azeroth, Anduin Lothar. His life looked to be that of a Knight who only sees action when a madman tries to attack the King, which, in a twisted way, disappointed him. He craved battle, and almost glorified war, like so many misguided soldiers do before seeing the depravity of the field. However, his life was rocked when Medivh opened the Dark Portal, and brought the Horde into his native land, along with an Orc to be his eternal nemesis.
First War
Horrified, but never dispirited, Shockna survived the first attack on Stormwind Keep, and slayed a good many Orcs along with the rest of the Brotherhood. After the initial attack was crushed, Lothar, Shockna, and the rest of the Brotherhood met together to decide on how next to move. Lothar, by this time, was one of the head figures in the Brotherhood, and also lead the charge against the Orcs on many battlegrounds. Shockna, too, had some involvement with the strategy of the war. He was a commander of a small battalion, leading a regiment to destroy the Orcish outpost of Kyross in the Swamp of Sorrows. It was during that very Siege that he first engaged the Orc commander, Ankcohs. After a small skirmish, Ankcohs withdrew and fled along with the rest of the Orcish defenders, battle beaten and nearly dead. Had there not been Skeletons raised by Necrolytes, there would have been no survivors from that attack. Afterward, Shockna was met with many disappointments and defeats, such as being the one to flee from many, many towns, including Grand Hamlet, Moonbrook, Goldshire and even his native Sunnyglade. He, however, eventually brought a large group of soldiers to liberate the enslaved surivors of Sunnyglade. His last victory during the war was the razing of the Orcish base at Rockard. However, he did not get terribly far, as Ankcohs and his forces repelled them at Stonard, and after that the Horde pushed all the way to Stormwind Keep. The Brotherhood was virtually annihilated at that battle, Shockna being one of the few survivors. Very little could have been done to help it, he thought, but the Horde had conquered his lands, and he, with Lothar and the rest, marched north toward Lordaeron to rally the Human nations to fight the Horde once and for all.
Second War
Quickly volunteering to be the Defense Commander for Hillsbrad and Southern Lordaeron, Shockna ascended the ranks quickly, as he always seemed to do. Within a few weeks, the Horde base of Zul'Dare was discovered after the Horde had left Hillsbrad and Southshore in ruins, and was demolished immediately. Afterward, the Alliance moved south to liberate Khaz Modan from the Horde. Shockna lead the charge at Dun Modr and Dun Algaz, while rebuilding the Stromgarde Isle of Tol Barad. Ankcohs was present at both of these forts, and more skirmishes doubtlessly followed. Before the Battle at Grim Batol, Shockna was plagued by dreams of Ankcohs, trying to reconcile why he kept meeting the Orc, and why they were always so similar in rank... Failing to rationalize it, he went with his troops to Grim Batol, and sure enough, Ankcohs was there, within the |Stronghold, but before there could be any action, the Kul Tiras Navy came and demolished the Orcish refining operations, and the task required done, thus, Shockna and his troops left Grim Batol as it was, not being aware of the fact that the Dragonqueen Alexstrasza was being held prisoner there.
