Skriral is a young mage, fresh from Dalaran. When Dalaran was destroyed in the Third War, he escaped, along with many other students, through portals. He is still young, and many worry about him falling to the lure of power, whether through the Scourge, or Demonic magic. However, though he is certainly more susceptible to the call of power than others in his family, he is good natured and kind.

Skriral inherited long-distance runecasting (the ability to cast spells through Ley lines by drawing runes on a map and then channeling a spell through the rune). This trait has only been seen in one other individual, Ëina, Skreeran I's wife, so it has skipped many generations before Skriral received it.

Skriral joined the Twilight Cult for a period of time, misguided and believing that the Old Gods were the way to purge the world of evil. Skiral believed that the old Gods were merely a tool to be used for the greater good of the world, but he was quickly sucked under into the evil inner workings of the cult. He steadily lost compassion for life and succumbed to the whispers he had been hearing in his head. He began to work for a new purpose, to bring about the return of the Old Gods and the plunging of the world into chaos. Finally, as the cult prepared to sacrifice a defiant female Orc to the Old Gods, in hopes of pleasing the gods enough to be granted the curse of Azshara, to become Naga. Suddenly, Skriral became aware that madness had been slowly encroaching on the fringes of his mind since he had joined the cult, and that he could barely control his actions. As he came to his senses, he was revolted at what he had been about to do and fought the rest of the cult off, releasing the prisoner. He then opened a portal and escaped the cultists with the Orc. However, too late he had realized he had tampered with forces too powerful to control, and he suffered the unfortunate side effect of being incredibly more susceptible to the whispers of the Old Gods than the average being.

This painful awareness has plagued him many times. The first time he became aware of this was halfway through a group trip from Theramore to Ratchet, when they passed a shrine to the Old Gods buried in a Silithid nest. While they did give the nest a wide berth, Skriral immediately felt another presence in his mind. He fought with the being for control, and eventually came to, only to find himself in the Ratchet inn. Apparently, he became insane for a short time after passing the nest, and the others travelers had been forced to tie him down until they could arrive at their destination and find help, or he woke up healthy. Since that incident, Skriral has made sure to stay away from southern Kalimdor, as even though C'thun has seemingly been killed, he still hears whispers of slumbering evil deep within that part of the world.

Skriral also maintains a deep dread of the sea. More than once he has been found wandering about on the decks of a ship he is traveling aboard, only to swear that he had been asleep. There is something in the sea that both calls out to him and horrifies him, but he refuses to say much on the matter. This fear grows stronger the closer he becomes to the Maelstrom, but exists anytime Skriral approaches the ocean.

When Skreeran I was awoken, and the various members of the clan were stationed at Horde outposts around the world, Skriral was sent to Kargath in the Badlands. He was unable to perfom magic, due to barrier spells placed on his family to prevent an uprising, and thusly he has grown fairly used to difficult physical labor and combat.
