Dun Garok is a dwarven fortress nestled into the southeastern hills of Hillsbrad Foothills.

HistoryEdit

Captain Ironhill currently leads the fortress's garrison. The dwarves help protect the humans of Hillsbrad as well as the Azurelode Mine. The Forsaken loathe the presence of the dwarves and have several quests for Horde players that require them to infiltrate Dun Garok.

Dun Garok (Cataclysm)

Ghosts of Dun Garok after the Cataclysm

Something terrible has happened to Dun Garok during the Cataclysm. The dwarves are all dead and the area is now haunted by Dun Garok Spirits. The ghost of Captain Ironhill has remained in Gun Garok, not for vengeance like the others, but out of sadness for his people that have remained. He would task Horde adventurers to release their spirits from the place. Also, the ghost of Tamra Stormpike can occasionally be found in the main quarters seething with hatred.

Dark BelowEdit

In World of Warcraft: The Dark Below, all the Dun Garok Spirits have finally moved on. Vanndar Stormpike plans to retake the fortress, but the place was already taken by Gnolls from the Sagepaw Legion. Now, the fortress becomes a battleground where General Stormpike leads the Stormpike Guard, along with their Forsaken allies, to retake Dun Garok and battle the Gnolls, and their leader Brrr'bark, who remains inside the main quarters. After Brrr'bark was defeated by Adventurers, Dun Garok was retaken by the Alliance.
