CataclysmEditThis section concerns content exclusive to Cataclysm.
Some time after the Cataclysm, the Maraudine and other clans of centaur joined under the new High Khan Aratas. However, after the High Khan was slain by Garad'kra, a military force within the Horde, the Maraudine clan returned to Maraudon.
At an unknown time, the Maraudine clan began to expand its numbers when Khan Zaeron, the new leader of the clan, invited numerous centaurs from the Brown and Stonetalon clan, a small amount of Outcasts, and several survivors from the Krenka clan to join by his side.
In the World of Warcraft: The Dark Below, the Maraudine clan planned to negotiate with the Thokar clan until a legion of Quilboars, led by Mot Tusk, attacked and took over the temple of Maraudon. Before the Maraudine centaurs could engage their enemies, Rojmane used his magic to put them all to sleep and have them imprisoned and enslaved. Khan Zaeron was the only centaur who escaped and traveled across the Desolace to receive aid. He tried to convince the Thokar clan to help him reclaim his home and rescue his people from enslavement, but the clan was busy fighting off countless Quilboars that laid siege on the village.
After reaching towards Nijel's Point and explaining his story, he is aided by an Alliance adventurer, Vahlarriel Demonslayer, and a large battalion of newly-recruited Night elves that were once Hatefury Satyrs from Sargeron. Together, they arrive near the entrance to the Valley of Spears and set up their plan to rescue all the prisoners. With the help of their adventurer, they launched an attack across the valley, killing and freeing many Maraudine centaurs. With Mot Tusk defeated in combat, the rest of the Quilboars were forced to retreat to Maraudon. After thanking Vahlarriel and the adventurer for everything, Zaeron and his people agree to ally themselves with the Alliance.
When Zaeron decided for him and his people to leave the Desolace and find a new home, Vahlarriel ordered a group of Night elves to create a portal which took him, the adventurer, Zaeron, and the Maraudine centaurs to Elwynn Forest. Arriving near the entrance of Stormwind City, the adventurer, Vahlarriel, Zaeron, and the clan are encountered by King Anduin Wrynn and his guards. After Vahlarriel explained and consulted with the King, Zaeron and the Maraudine clan were granted amnesty and given a warm welcome. Inside Stormwind, Zaeron and his people found a large valley, and began to settle there by constructing their village. Eventually, many Maraudine centaurs were trained by the Alliance in their superior military knowledge and arm them with weaponry. After their training was complete, they were recruited into the ranks of the Stormwind Legion (formerly known as the 7th Legion) while those became elite guards inside the city.
The Maraudine clan have a settlement in the Valley of Spears which is also the entrance to Maraudon; the tomb of Zaetar. Only the bravest and mightiest of the tribe's warriors are chosen to guard the tomb of Zaetar. After joining the Alliance, the clan built their settlements in the Valley of Maraudos, one of the new areas within Stormwind.
