Speculation
Edit
According to Blizzard Staff:
"Trolls and Worgens Druids will get their own bear, cat, travel, and aquatic forms."
Blizzcon Day 2 - Open Q&A Panel. MMO Champion. Retrieved on 2009-11-25.
Things to note:
1. "Bear" and "cat" for Worgen and Troll Druids, which confirms they will not be different species, only different bear/cat skins.
2. They will get their own travel and aquatic, which leads me to believe Night Elves and Tauren will also get new travel and aquatic forms, since currently they share the same model (unlike their improved bear and cat forms).
Based on these premises, I would like to speculate as to what the new travel and aquatic forms will be. Here is my list of likely candidates and their justifications:
| Race | Travel Form | Aquatic Form |
|---|---|---|
Night Elf | rumored to be original travel form; stags are native to northern Kalimdor; some notable druids such as Malfurion Stormrage have stag antlers; Night Elf Moonkin Form has stag antlers (in contrast to the Tauren form which has horns) | sleek body, playful nature, prettier than the current tusked sea lion |
Tauren | from the Barrens and Mulgore; they are tall and strong like Tauren; known for their running ability | from Northrend, they are a large maned mammal, and fitting since Tauren have a "lion" cat form |
Worgen | clearly a 'travel' beast; although not very exciting, fits Human culture well (since Worgen were Humans); there are Fel Steeds and Shadow Chargers in Shadowfang Keep | a fierce predator with sharp teeth; surely there are sharks in the waters surrounding Gilneas, as there are with its neighboring zones of Silverpine Forest and Hillsbrad Foothills |
Troll | it's the troll racial mount (they are quick on their feet); found in Stranglethorn Vale and Echo Isles, where the Darkspear lived | tropical fish often share habitat with Trolls; their pointy-teeth smile and crazy blood-shot eyes almost scream Troll! |
