Biography
Early Life
Delbunk was born in Gnomeregan to Fimble - a strong warrior who guarded the gates of Gnomeregan, and Jemma - a powerful mage of the Kirin Tor. As a young gnome, he spent much of his free time creating simple mechanical contraptions and attempting to sneak around (although he was very clumsy and often knocked things over while sneaking). As a child up until his teenage years he was very peaceful and always had a dislike for violence. Throughout Gnomeregan Delbunk became well known for playing pranks and causing mischief.
When Delbunk was a little older he was starting to get bored with life in Dun Morogh and enlisted in the Alliance Military as a flying machine pilot. After only a handful of test flights he was given his own flying machine, it was clear he was a natural and learned to become a pilot very quickly. Delbunk was deployed near Stormwind and later Lordaeron with a regiment of other gnomish pilots. These flying machines were slightly different then most. The ones Delbunk and his comrades flew were equipped with guns and heavier armor. (Technology that would later be used in gnomish biplanes) The band of gnomes quickly became known as the "Terror of the Skies" to the races of the Horde - notorious for launching quick, precise, and lethal air raids on orcish bases and zeppelins.
Delbunk Becomes a Rogue
Delbunk returned home to be hailed as a hero after the eventual victory of the Second War, along with the other surviving gnomish flying regiments. Something was very amiss, however. He raced to his home to only find it empty. His parents had been captured by orcs on one of their many raids on Khaz Modan. Swearing revenge upon the vile greenskins, Delbunk decided to learn the ways of the rogue and whenever the opportunity presented itself he'd jab a dagger in any and every orc he came across.
Delbunk recieved very basic training from an experienced rogue named Fenthwick. He was taught how to use daggers, make a few poisions, pick-pocket and his sneaking skills were greatly improved. He made a living selling patents for a few of his inventions and repairing any mechanical devices people brought him.
Third War, Gnomeregan Falls
Delbunk returned to the battlefield in the Third War (before the invasion of Gnomeregan) again as a pilot - this time he flew in the new and improved gnomish biplanes. While he was originally stationed in Northern Khaz Modan he got bored of the very little action the dwarven lands saw during the war and flew up to Lordaeron out of curiosity. Having no idea what to expect, Delbunk was shocked to see the kingdoms of his allies in chaos. It is here where he first met one of his future best friends (Derenas Tyraldor) a paladin of the Silver Hand. Delbunk did his best to help the humans fight the Scourge, blasting an estimated two hundred undead soldiers with his machine gun and dropped bombs on a few small Scourge outposts. Unfortunately, news of his own home coming under attack by troggs combined with the fact that the humans were fighting a losing battle made Delbunk chose to fly to Gnomeregan as fast as possible.
It took Delbunk four days to get home (his plane malfunctioned and crashed in the Wetlands and he had to fix it). By the time he had finally reached Dun Morogh it was already too late. Gnomeregan and the surrounding area was infested with leper gnomes, troggs and the city full of toxic gas. Rather than wasting time on venturing back into the heart of the city Delbunk helped refugees flee to the safety of the massive dwarven fortress-city, Ironforge.
The Mountaineers, Mechanics Company, and the Stormwind Park
Months after the fall of Gnomeregan Delbunk was approached by the son of renowned explorer Brann Bronzebeard, Bhraghad Bronzebeard and his companion Dunbarrow Pridedrift. The two asked Delbunk if he would like to be a founding member of their guild later known as The Khaz Modan Mountaineers -an order comissioned by the Explorer's League of Ironforge-. Delbunk happily accepted the offer and the three got busy on getting their guild up an running. They recruited mountaineers, held a meeting and designed a tabard before setting out on their many explorations. They also set up a headquarters at the South Gate Outpost in eastern Dun Morogh The most notable of these adventures were to Blackfathom Deeps, the Dun Morogh airfield and to the top of Mount Ironforge, fishing in Loch Modan and a few other areas in Khaz Modan. The mountaineers were also responsible for providing vital information to the Kingdom of Ironforge on the Dark Iron dwarves via several well executed reconnaissance missions. They also organized several small raids on the trogg infested gnome capital in attempts to retake it.
After Bhraghad went missing for several months, the mountaineers slowly fell apart and were eventually disbanded.
Not long after the mountaineers disbanded Delbunk met a dwarf hunter named Rijj. The two set up a successful mechanic repairs company outside the gates of Ironforge and made repairs on steam tanks, biplanes, and any other engineering devices their customers brought them.
After the mechanics company closed down Delbunk was left with nothing to occupy his time, so he spent nearly all of his time causing mischief and wreaking havoc with his engineering gadgets on the denizens of the Stormwind City Park. Delbunk became well-known throughout the district for harassing purps, throwing snowballs at unsuspecting people, stealing from the Golden Leaf tavern, blowing things up, eavesdropping, pick-pocketing, throwing fireworks at people, and using his stealth ability to spring out of the shadows and scare countless citizens. According to Delbunk, he was chased around the city by angry patrons a whopping 17 times. Although being a pest to many he had a certain eccentric, optimistic attitude that earned him many friends.
