Thalaros "Thal" Moonblade is a Rogue who was at one point a Druid and member of the Cenarion Circle until accusations of xenophobia among other things forced him to leave. He is known for his hatred of the Scourge, and is both an advocate and high ranking member of the Argent Dawn.
Most people aren't aware of his past as a Druid, as he usually avoids discussion of it.
Personality
Thalaros, when surrounded by his close friends and colleagues, tends to be a jovial, confident (if not cocky), and doesn't mind having a harmless laugh at a friends expense. He generally likes to call attention to himself, and also tends to be a bit of a braggart. He is fiercely loyal to his friends, and generally does his best to bail them out of dangerous situations, partially because he is the cause most of the time for said situations. But he does have his limits, and if it appears to be a lost cause, his quietly makes his exit.
In contrast, when he is surrounded by strangers or people he doesn't trust, he likes to stay in the shadows and observe, and absolutely hates getting caught off guard. He likes to manipulate any event happening that he happens to be interested in, either feeding in his own or false information, and he is also prone to spying and eavesdropping, being extremly suspicious of the motives of others.
His combat style is a mixture of both grace and brute force. Becoming rather bloodthirsty in battle, he mixes a high energy barrage of strikes mixed with clever rogue tricks and strategy.
Early History
Thalaros was born 10,193 years ago to parents Arithanos and Aerylin, both of whom died during the events of the War of the Ancients. Like his parents, he chose the life of a Druid, and became a member of the Cenarion Circle, a membership that would last until recent events removed him from the Circle.
He was a member of the Night Elf forces in Silithus during the War of the Shifting Sands. During one of the many battles, he lost the use of his right eye as a Qiraji claw nearly took it right out of its socket.
Like most druids, he too also spent thousands of years throughout his life in the Emerald Dream.
Expulsion from the Cenarion Circle
The events of the Third War gave Thalaros some very unfavorable opinions about the races of the Horde. While he did fight alongside the Orcs in the Battle of Mount Hyjal and admired their battle tactics and determination, he still saw the death of Cenarius at the hands of the Orc Grom Hellscream as murder, even if the orcs were not fully in control of themselves.
He was further outraged when the Horde accepted the Forsaken led by the Undead High Elf Sylvanas Windrunner. Thalaros saw both the Forsaken and Scourge as one of the same, and perversions of nature and the natural cycle of life. He began calling for the removal of the Tauren from the Circle as a protest to the Horde over the new alliance made. These calls were met with accusations of xenophobia and fear mongering, and he was eventually driven out of the order. He blames his expulsion on Fandral Staghelm even though neither of them were overly fond of the Tauren, the two have never seen fully eye to eye and often disagreed on many issues.
He left all of his Druidic reagents and trinkets buried on a hill outside of Nighthaven and abandoned his training as a Druid.
Since he was not of enough physical strength to train as a Warrior. He took the path of a Rogue, already being familiar with wandering around stealthed from his time shapeshifted in cat form.
Recent History
Thalaros has been a bit of a wanderer, though he rarely travels to Kalimdor, preferring to stay away from his homeland. He has served in the enlisted ranks of the Alliance army, fighting in the conflict zones of Alterac Valley, Arathi Basin, and Warsong Gulch, attaining the rank of Sergeant Major. Since the Alliance dissolved the old rank system, Thalaros has discarded all signs his rank, though he still participates in battles against the Horde from time to time, usually in the hotly contested Halaa in Nagrand.
He also has toned down his hostile attitude towards the Forsaken, focusing his hatred for the undead almost solely on the Scourge. He became a high-ranking member of the Argent Dawn for his work against the Scourge in the Plaguelands. He openly advocates support for the Argent Dawn, hoping to bolster the membership of the order. When the Dark Portal was reopened, Thalaros was one of the first agents of the Argent Dawn through, has remained in Outland working against the forces of the Burning Legion. To this end, he has become a member of the Aldor.
Formerly residing in Stormwind City, he now lives on the Aldor Rise in Shattrath City.
Other
Thalaros' closet living relative is Rofellos Moonblade, his slightly younger brother, like the majority of Moonblade's, Rofellos also took the path of the Druid and remains a part of the Cenarion Circle, the two haven't spoken since the expulsion.
Thalaros is both a Master Skinner, and a Master Leatherworker, specializing in the Tribal designs usually best suited for Rogues and Druids. He also is extremely knowledgeable in First Aid, a skill vital to one of his risk taking nature.
Unlike most Night Elves, he advocates the use of arcane magic, believing it to be a useful tool in the fight against the Scourge and the Burning Legion, as long as it is used in moderation. Thus, he also does not hate the High Elves, but pities them for their addiction to arcane energies. The Blood Elves who openly seek and accept demonic power however, he hates with a passion, since he hates anything associated with the demons of the Burning Legion.
