Though among the ranks of the Druids in the battle, once again, Asaerar (now known as Asurion) never saw battle. His nature had shone through then--He Who Idles. Though among the ranks of the Druids in the battle, once again, Asaerar (now known as Asurion) never saw battle. After those thousands of years, the dragon-druid was a horrible, lazy, idling creature. The dragon-druid had fallen asleep at the foot of the mountain, in Moonglade. He slept through the entire battle, to awake finding it over. He flew to the top of Mount Hyjal to see the great corpse of Archimonde the Defiler and the surrounding forests seared from the blast. The dragon-druid then returned to his duty, 'secretive' emissary to the Alliance.

Background

War of the Ancients

"I'm no hero, Master Malfurion. You and the others slay demons with barely the wave of a hand. I just try to preserve your heads so that you can continue to do it." -- Jarod Shadowsong

In the War of the Ancients, Asurion was the dragon Asaerar. A young and bright green wyrm, he saw the horror of the war. Only taking part in two battles, his aid was limited. Eventually, with the withdrawl of the dragon forces, Asaerar returned to the Emerald Dream.

During the creation of Nordrassil, the Druid Barrow Dens were also created for their dreaming. Asaerar was appointed to the position of guarding several in Ashenvale, to his dismay. The young dragon would spend nearly ten-thousand years untill he would leave his post again.

The Third War

The Horn of Cenarius

"Who dares defile this ancient land? Who dares the wrath of Cenarius and the night elves?" -- Cenarius

After the sounding of the Horn of Cenarius, Asaerar's duty was supposed to be temporarily relieved. The significantly older dragon took this eagerly, finally being on his own. He took flight, returning to his kin.

It was then, at the sight of the new Alliance, Asaerar was ordered by the Flight to take the guise of a night elf and 'spy' on the Alliance.

Eternity's End: The Battle of Mount Hyjal

"All of your efforts have been in vain, for the draining of the World Tree has already begun. Soon the heart of your world will beat no more." -- Archimonde
