The following is one of the texts recovered from the study of Lady Sacrolash, after her defeat at the hands of the Shattered Sun Offensive. A short while after it's recovery, a night elf allied to the Offensive went mad and tried to destroy the text. The night elf in question has been eliminated. My reccomendation is that the text be kept in safe custody, preferably under magic wards and nondetection spells, until it is ready to be unleashed. Galtak Sargeras! ---Warlock Narama

Stored within this page is the uncovered, true story of the night elven "moon-goddess", Elune. Feel free to not believe it, but this is still the truth, no matter what you say. ---Lady Sacrolash of the Argus League
It is a well known fact that the Eredar were originally ruled over by Kil'Jaeden, Archimonde, and the traitorous Velen. But there is one missing piece, so well-concealed by those who know it that no-one even knew that there was a piece missing. To the question "How many were the leaders of the Eredar originally?", the ignorant ones, and the deceptive keepers of this secret, will answer "Three". But that is not the truth, for the truth is, in fact, that there were four. Along with the previously mentioned, there was also a female Eredar of great might and fervor. Her name was Elune. She was the first to accept the offer of the Glorious One, she was the one responisble for the deaths of many of Velen's followers. She herself took upon the responibility of hunting down the defectors.
But somewhere along the way, something happened. Elune found the draenei, but before she had a chance to strike, she was hailed by the Naaru, beings of the wicked Light. It is uncertain even for me what happened back then, but after the event, she turned away from the Righteous Path, and went into hiding, on a certain little world known as Azeroth. Here, she inspected the many tribes of trolls native to the planet, and finally selected one tribe, the Starchildren, to be her favored few. She took them to the Well of Eternity, the source of all magic on Azeroth, and transformed them. She named them the Kaldorei, the Eredun world for Children of the Stars, and also Elves, from the Eredun world El'vari, "The Chosen".
She had taken on the responibility of raising the infant race of elves into a full-fledged empire, and did so well, at least until her past came back to haunt her. On her hunt for the Draenei, she had encountered a species of peaceful lupine humanoids known as the worgen, which she brutally slaughtered with unspeakable methods for no reason except that they stood in her path. Now that she had settled down and had a family, the remaining worgen, tainted by fel magic, had prepared a war-host to gain their righteous retribution. They opened a portal from their realm, in fact a reflection of Azeroth: the Emerald Dream, or rather, the Emerald Nightmare, as it had become after Elune's brutalities, and invaded. Elune herself came to the frontline, and explained that she had "seen the light" (excuse the pun), and offered to help them rebuild their tainted realm. She took the fel energies in the Nightmare, and sealed them in an undisclosed location within the realm itself. With the Dream now cleansed, (the majority of the) worgen forgave her, and even allied with her, establishing a bond between the Kaldorei and the Dream. The druids of later generations would utilize this constract.
Her people thrived, regarded her as their patron deity, and build grand temples to her honor. But she didn't see what was going on behind her back, for the Highbourne sorcerer Xavius and the regent queen Azshara had sent out a call for power. Normally, such a call would have been largely ignored by the Legion on Argus, but not this time, for Archimonde and Kil'jaeden sensed the signature power of Elune emanating from the source of the call. Knowing nothing more than that she had betrayed them in the past, the Eredar lords convinced their master, glorious Sargeras, to answer the call. And the rest is history as written: Elune aided her children against the Legion, and finally prevailed, if only for the help from a certain band of time-travellers.
But there is still one tiny detail to reveal: after lord Archimonde's final defeat that ended the Second Invasion, his eternal soul found itself drawn to a great darkness, an incredibly concentrated source of the fel. He infiltrated the realm where he sensed the taint: the Emerald Dream. He worked his way to the sealed darkness, and unleashed it. That, my friends, is the reason why the Emerald Nightmare is once again spreading. The original machinations of the so-called "goddess" are the reason for the corruption. The worgen are already putting two and two together, and many of them, once again corrupted, have allied with mortals such as the renegade archmage Arugal, in order to finish Elune off once and for all, while she tries to convince the rest that she is to be trusted. Pathetic.
Why does Elune never reveal her true form, even to her most devout followers? Why did the Legion really choose Azeroth to invade? Was it really a coincidence that the Draenei vessel crashed that near night elf territory? The evidence is overpowering.
And this concludes the true story of the pretender goddess, Elune, War-mistress of the Legion, butcher of worlds.
The Old Gods will not be mentioned, ever.
