There is a possibility in the future of having access to a 3d model viewer that would allow people to look at models of items, NPCs, and mobs as they appear in the game. More than likely the way it would function is direct linking to another site that has the viewer already in place.

There are various pros to this:

1. No more clicking through to a site, than having to click another button to access their viewer. It would be a one-step process.
2. This can be valuable for those wishing to use transmogrification, as well as those just wishing to actually see what a boss drops, or what that PvP/heirloom/PvE gear looks like before committing to spending points/currency.
3. WoWWiki would also receive linking in turn.
