Schools project
Edit
Sounds good. I like the schools pages, and I think that makes them a little bit more useful (having the "as an ingredient" duplicated). If you really want to do it right, you probably want to make a transclude page, rather than copying & pasting. I can explain to you how to do that, and why you would want to, if you're interested in learning more about "the wiki way." -Howbizr (talk) 20:50, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
- Any assistance would be highly appriciated. Current way of copy and pasting from a page to another for the sake of similar feel gets confusing fast. Quite a few times I end up typing in the new information on the wrong page. -Dawnyell (talk) 15:52, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry I didn't get back earlier - lots going on.
- Basically this is how transcludes work. You make a special page with a section of content - a strategy, a table, etc. That way the exact content can be included on several pages without copying and pasting. Then if it changes, you only have to change it in one place. Nice nice.
- So on the transclude page, include this at the top "<noinclude>{{transclude}}</noinclude>" that way people know what the deal is with this strange page.
- Then in any of the pages you want to use your new page, do this:
{{:transclude}}. Pretty simple really.
- Then in any of the pages you want to use your new page, do this:
- Check out Pest Control, To All The Squirrels Who Shared My Life, and Pest Control/Strategy to see it in action.
- In the case of Dragonfin Angelfish School and Dragonfin Angelfish for example, I might create a new page Dragonfin Angelfish/As an ingredient, and include the "as an ingredient" section from the school article. Now once your transclude page is complete, add it to both the school page and the fish page.
