WoW is SUPER ADDICTIVE! Don't play it if you value your free time... ;-)
BlzzCon 2007
I probably don't have anything to add from stuff that has been reported in the online press. I did get to play with the goodie bag stuff and I was mostly impressed with the Warcraft TCG box. --Fandyllic (talk · contr) 9:01 PM PDT 12 Aug 2007

Killer startup?
Stumbled on an interesting article:
www.KillerStartups.com WoWWiki.com - The Warcraft Wiki
Doesn't really talk about how a business model could work, but interesting that some people are thinking about WoWWiki that way. --

Re:Adminship
I think a nomination is fine, I just have some questions before you go forward.
- Do I need to hang out on MIRC/chat?
- Would I have any responsibilities/commitments? or is adminship more like access to do deletes, ip bans for spammers, etc?
- Anything else I should I know?
I'm honored - thanks for thinking of me.
(and lol, I really need to work on getting a sig working. This is kind of dull, don't u think?) -Howbizr (talk) 20:08, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- You are definitely the best candidate for admin in my mind, but I'm looking for others.
- Being on IRC will make you more liked by that crowd, but it is not necessary.
- We don't put specific responsibilities on admins, but here are some of the things it is good to see admins doing:
- Answering questions on the forums (technical and policy questions are usually the most valuable).
- Settling disputes.
- Review the Violations list for updates, bans or comments.
- Review Category:Articles for speedy deletion, Category:Miscellany for speedy deletion, and Category:Terminated articles.
- Help cleanup vandalism (with revert and rollback mostly).
- Protect pages that need protecting.
- Encourage good contributors.
- I would do a thorough review of current policies and the more popular guidelines, but mostly so other policy lawyers don't embarrass you too much.
- Feel more free to create new articles that you think would be generally helpful, i.e. ask forgiveness and not permission.
- If you get the job, make sure you get on the admin mailing list (ask Kirkburn).
- See the Administrator section of Special:ListGroupRights for the powers admins get. I usually check with Pcj or Kirkburn for any javascript or CSS changes or ideas I have (which is rare).

- If you really think wowwiki needs more admins, Eirik Ratcatcher comes to mind as a possibility. He's a very courteous editor, but I would definitely still give him the quality of bold. I'm not sure what other qualities you're looking for exactly, but just a thought. -Howbizr (talk) 22:09, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
When you get back
See here.

- Again I know you're gone, but if you are reading this, are you in charge of this? It seems like it's been neglected for oh... the past couple of years.
- If it's just supposed to be self-designation, then maybe there shouldn't be a sign up page, and applications, and all of that hoopla.

- Since welcoming is automatic now... I see no need of a welcoming committee, probably why its been abandoned.

- Yeah, as Coobra said, it is effectively abandoned. I will decommission the Welcoming committee when I get back. If you become and admin, you will automatically be part of the welcoming committee...

- As Howbizr pointed out on WoWWiki:Help Team, seems its the same thing. WoWWiki:Article Council seems to be dead in the water with no leader or members hanging around anymore as well.
