Ubarlight understands that [[Server:Blackrock US/Ubarlight|Ubarlight]]'s page was sorted, however, Ubarlight believes that it would fit better under funny articles where it was, or as an Argent Dawn (US) character, since Ubarlight is a character of comical and mythical proportions, and originated on the Argent Dawn (US) server. == Guild:The Ta'veren (Argent Dawn US) ==
  +
  +
Could you give me a hint why the page for Ta'veren was deleted? I see your note in the deletion log but I don't understand it. It is of course a raiding alliance and not technically a guild, as noted on the page, but it's not the only "non-guild" guild listed in Argent Dawn's raiding progression, nor the only AD raiding alliance with a guild page on WoWWiki. Thus, while there is no actual guild called "The Ta'veren" on Argent Dawn, all of the members of the raiding alliance reside and raid together on that server. Did I make the wrong sort of page? Is there a raiding alliance template, or do raiding alliances have no place on WoWWiki? I could just make the entry on the raid progression page link directly to the group'ss site on Guild Portal if having a small informational page about the group on WoWWiki is inappropriate.

Hey there. Over on Wowhead (where I'm [http://wowhead.com/?user=harmil harmil]), you've edited some of my postings. In one case, you deleted a posting and in another at least 2 cases, you've edited out information about my character/server/guild that I put at the end of otherwise helpful (at least I thought so) posts. Since I don't know of a way to contact you there, I thought I should do so, here. Can you tell me which rule you're going by, here, since I cannot seem to find anything in the FAQ which precludes identifying one's characters, guild or server, and since the names I usually go by were not available on Wowhead, I want to have some way to identify myself in my postings and relate those postings to the other ways that I contribute to various WoW-releated sites. Cool, thanks for the clarification. Typically in when you see names with an apostrophe, you get a double capitalization. (Like O'Reilly etc). I wasn't sure what the Blizzard standard was, but the redirects should help confusion for people like me who weren't aware of it. ;) Unaz 18:21, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

Also, random other names use it (Aman'Thul, Eldre'Thalas, Jubei'Thos, and more) yay for consistancy! Unaz 18:23, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

Island Troll Vote

How come you got rid of you're vote on Talk:Island troll? Saimdusan 06:07, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

It's been redirected to Darkspear. Less hassle than a delete, and all the information that was on there is on Darkspear anyways. Pzychotix 06:15, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
I was only properly fixing your vote, you didn't include the talk page template. I don't have an opinion on the matter. --GRYPHONtc 13:57, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

FLT

The TLF (or FLT) is not a guild. This abusive name was put out of my will. It's an organization, made of dozens of guilds & unguilded persons. We are not affiliated to one guild nor one server. I'd like to discuss how we could change back this to a more accurate status.--K ) (talk) 23:53, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Well, it was marked with {{Stub/Guild}} and was linked to from Server:Ysondre Europe, it certainly looks like a guild article. It doesn't appear to belong in the main namespace however I am unsure of a resolution, but appropriate categories should be specified as well as a proper intro or other text explaining what type of article it is. --GRYPHONtc 00:00, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
Gryphon -- this is also the case for SASU. I don't have any emotional attachment to the matter, since I'm not a member any more, but it's fairly clear that it's a group of guilds as per the template and text. I am also not a frequent WoWWiki editor, but I guess I'd suggest a Raiding Alliance category of some sort. Strand 21:36, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Thoughts on the Mal'Ganis Nav Bar

First off, great work on the Mal'Ganis sever page. Looks great and is very functional. I just have one suggestion, PvP. I'm not a big PvPer myself, but I know alot on our server are all about it. I got the idea while looking at other server pages, mostly lists of Rank 14 players. I didn't want to jump in and much up the page myself as I don't have the design flair that you do, so I just made a mock up of the Nav bar with some idea changes here.

I'm thinking high ranking Arena teams on the arena pages, perhaps a list of those that got the top title and the armored nether drake. For the Rank 14 page, obviously a list, best as can be researched, of all those that got HWL/GM.

I'm more then happy to put in time adding data, but I'll leave any big changes/design layouts up to you. You did a great job on the Progression and Profession pages, that I'm sure you could use the same theme for PvP pages. I'll keep an eye on your talk page for a few days, or you can toss me a line on my talk page to get in touch if needs be. ZZqA 19:42, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. PvP section sounds good. Have some example's from some other server pages? I'm a very casual player so for high end raids, equipment, pvp I need a kick start on what the content looks like. --GRYPHONtc 19:51, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Object

Hey, if you have a minute can you check out School_of_Red_Snapper and tell me what you think? If you like the way it is set up, I will make my object boilerplate match that. Thanks again for the advice. --Jiyambi t || c 18:08, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Jammno

Hey, can you stop giving in to the e-peen hungry realm forumers and accept the information posted about Barths celebrity? The other realm wiki's with celebrities have information on their pages, why not ours? --Mabaricko 10:49PM, 5 July 2007 (CMT)

The content is contested and violates DNP policies. --GRYPHONtc 03:51, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
Is there anything you can do to stop the e-peen war? There's a HUGE rally in Ironforge right now with all the Jammno followers having a massive argument over this absurd wiki against the Jammno haters. Any ideas how the two groups can be happy? Also, if it violates DNP policies, why do the other realm forums have basically the same thing for their celebrities? --Mabaricko
The content is biased and contested, it does not follow WW:NPOV and is causing constant reverts. Not all server articles are monitored, however, they do fall subject to the same scrutiny when they become edit wars as well. --GRYPHONtc 03:59, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
Also, this wiki (as do most other wikis) operate on basis of a consensus. At the moment, the consensus is to not have that content on that page. See [[Talk:Server:Barthilas US#Votes]] --Pcj (TC) 04:14, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
I'll add my response, which is copy pasted from the talk page.

Googled his name in combination with warcraft, trading, and card. There were no links to a Blizzard sponsored website in any of the responses. However, his notability on ytmnd.com is asserted, and that should probably be left in with a npov, rather than his biased editing. I have removed his last edit for the time being. --Sky (t · c · w) 07:05, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

I really think his name can be added. However, it needs to be npov, and it should only mention his post on the forums, and leave a link to the ytmnd. Nothing else. Assertions of such things as "world famous" are ridiculous; I had no idea he existed until I met the wiki some time ago, and even then, he doesn't stand out as anyone famous. If and when he gets his own card can that information be added; I highly doubt that the (new) way it was presented was true in any way shape or form.--Sky (t · c · w) 04:49, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
PS: I think I would even accept a page such as Soj's, as another contributor suggested in the votes. You can add a copy of the post and circumstances of the post to that then. But the way it is trying to be done currently is silly. --Sky (t · c · w) 04:57, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
I'll volunteer to create a Jammno page, akin to Soj's page, if this is consistent with categorisation / naming conventions of the Wiki and if doing so removes the NPOV tag that we have on the Barthilas page. (Impian 07:19, 6 July 2007 (UTC))
Cheers Gryphon for helping the community come to a speedy resolution of this issue. The NPOV tag has come off the Barthilas page, and I think the current situation is a lot improved. --Impian 15:16, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

All Guild articles should be linked per WW:GUILD naming polices. Example, Guild:Name (Icecrown US) --GRYPHONtc 03:55, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
Updated them all (I think) =) User:Lenthegr8/Sig 08:27, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
Thank you. --GRYPHONtc 16:18, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Battlegroup templates

You seem to be "the guy" for the {{Battlegroup}} templates, so I hope you don't mind my posting this here rather than on its talk page.

I noticed that the official battlegroup pages show icons for the battlegroups' namesake spells and thought it would be fun to have WoWWiki do the same. By putting the icons at e.g. {{Battlegroup EU Blackout/Icon}}, it would only require fairly minor modifications to the battlegroup template (my take on it can be found in my sandbox). If you think it's a good idea, I'd be happy to go through the US and EU icons myself (and at least make an attempt on the non-English ones). The template uses {{#ifexist:...}} to fall back to the current, icon-free appearance if the battlegroup's icon is missing.

User:DarkRyder/Sig 00:00, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Looks good to me, I would probably nuke the crossed weapon icons. Have at it. --GRYPHONtc 00:03, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Done and done. There only turned out to be only one icon I wasn't able to figure out -- that for DE Todbringer. I'll see what else I can do to unriddle it tomorrow. User:DarkRyder/Sig 01:09, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

You deleteing my category

I am sorry for my inappropriate comments on the IRC chat, various talk pages, and numerous edit summaries. I have it out of my system and realize that your removal of my work is only in the interest of bettering WoWWiki. My argument ends there. This will not turn into a war, and I will not be arguing for the remaking of the category. In a related note, I still feel the fan fiction and rumors category should stay, but will yield to whatever is in your best judgment. Really.--SWM2448 22:51, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Patch mirrors/Tabletop

Umm, is this a work in progress or what? User:Lessthan1337/Sig 04:59, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Umm, no it is in use. --GRYPHONtc 05:57, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Object Boilerplate

I'm not sure who to ask about this, but I know I talked to you about it in the past. The page Boilerplate:Object no longer exists, and I was wondering if you knew why. I thought it was on my watchlist but apparently it wasn't. I thought it was a useful page, anyways if you know what happened/why please let me know, or let me know who / where to go to find out. Thanks bunches. --Jiyambi t || c 02:23, 27 July 2007 (UTC) Let me add that Help:Object also does not exist, since it seems most boilerplates are being put in the help namespace now. --Jiyambi t || c 02:24, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

You'll probably want to ask Adys about that. --Pcj (TC) 02:27, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Jiyambi, I'd suggest redoing it from that one page you did design, and then having it located at Help:Object articles. --Sky (t · c · w) 06:05, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Okay, I still have a copy of the boilerplate floating around in my user page so I can just copy it strait to there. Thanks for the help everyone. --Jiyambi t || c 06:08, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Onyxia's Lair Attunement Page Deleted

I don't understand why this page was deleted -- there was no warning that it was a target for deletion and it aggregates information not contained anywhere else on the wiki. Please restore it, if possible, thanks.

Onyxia's Lair Attunement

Tabithy 18:35, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Sorted. It was a case of mistaken identity due to one of the templates included int he page being up for deletion. Sorry! User:Kirkburn/Sig3 18:45, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Relocation of Ubarlight's Page

Ubarlight understands that Ubarlight's page was sorted, however, Ubarlight believes that it would fit better under funny articles where it was, or as an Argent Dawn (US) character, since Ubarlight is a character of comical and mythical proportions, and originated on the Argent Dawn (US) server. Thanks for your time! OH YEA! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ubarlight (talk · contr). 05:35, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

There is policy about where character profile belong. It is hardly funny to anyone outside that one server's community, if funny at all, it certain does not belong in the main namespace. --GRYPHONtc 05:35, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Alright, that makes sense. Ubarlight did not originally make the page, a follower did, and they must have put it in the Category:Silly section, so Ubarlight just assumed that that was where it was suppose to be. Unless of course... someone else other than you and Ubarlight moved it prior... Anyways, thanks! --Ubarlight 11:54, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Battle Articles Names

I thought I should inform you about a discussion I've presented at Naming Policy to solve the problem of Battle Articles. Baggins came in and relocated more than ten articles without discussing it.--Gonzalo84 14:04, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

People rarely keep up on those talk pages, I have posted a feedback request on the Village pump. --GRYPHONtc 15:48, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

SD

Just noted your 23 Aug comment about SD notes. Sure, your 11 sept comment is some time later, but wanted to ask... are my SD notes sufficiently deserving? Would rather ask than continue in a disapproved pattern. --Eirik Ratcatcher 22:58, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

So far, so good, thanks :) --GRYPHONtc 23:19, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

English WoW Tools - not english?

err.. it seems you did only look at the domain (.de) and not at the tools. Almost all of my tools are only available in english. so why is it "not english content"? I don't understand that. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Bl4ckSh33p (talk · contr).

I did look at the site and found little english in trying to navigate the site regardless if the programs are in english. However, you already have the site listed, sub sections of a site do not qualify you to list your site twice. As well, the site was listed incorrectly. --GRYPHONtc 14:56, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Guild:The Ta'veren (Argent Dawn US)

--Drashian 20:56, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

I was looked through the deletion record. Looks to me like a bot tagged it as a guild that didn't exist (because it doesn't). Gryphon can prolly fix that for you. :) --Sky (t · c · w) 21:05, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
If/when he does, I would suggest moving it to Server:Argent Dawn US/The Ta'veren, so we don't have this sort of mixup in the future. --Sky (t · c · w) 21:06, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
I have restored and moved it. It was marked for deletion for nearly a month and it was tagged as a stub the same day the article was created. It appears nobody cared that the article was incomplete or marked for deletion. It might be a good idea to keep tabs on articles you are directly interested in and do what is needed to ensure that they meet policy. --GRYPHONtc 23:04, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
I agree with you there, it was my mistake to neglect a page I put there myself for so long. I'll take better care of my contributions in the future. Thanks for the quick response. --Drashian 04:10, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Template

Hey dude, I love your template for organizing servers, and I'd like to slowly change the entire Stormstrike battlegroup to it, I'm already changing my server, Dalvengyr, to it and it's really sweet. Do you mind if I use this template or should I just bug off? --Ithar 00:04, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Cool with me Smiley --GRYPHONtc 00:45, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

{{Realm}}

What's the situation here? User:Kirkburn/Sig3 00:51, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

I haven't worked on it anymore, it could be useful to replace Server, Server_US and Server_EU. Should probably use named variables, did unnamed before I realized the benefits of named. --GRYPHONtc 01:20, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Hey

Miss seeing you in IRC and seeing your excellent edits here on the wiki. Hope everything's ok! --PcjWowpedia wiki manager (TDrop me a line!C207,729 contributions and counting) 02:09, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Hey thanks for the concern Pcj. All is well, just been on a long holiday break on the road visiting family and such. As far as edits go, I've been keeping busy with a ton of other web projects as well, though I check my watchlist and pump pretty much daily. Should be back on IRC on the 2nd of January. Thanks again. --GRYPHONtc 22:03, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Wowhead

Hey there. Over on Wowhead (where I'm harmil), you've edited some of my postings. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you. -Deepone (talk) 19:51, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi i was wondering, do i have permission to add the 500 club tag to my own page or do you or someone else have to do it? I have checked my edits and i do have over 500. I just want some clearance on it as i dont wanna get in trouble. Respond soon if you can please, thanks!--Whitedragon254 (talk) 21:44, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
