Thank you for bringing this oversight to my attention, Resa. I have been busy archiving threads in the forums. Havenstrom, policies in the new sticky on the forums are not new and have been around for at least the past few months. What has changed are the penalties incurred for breaking those policies. Hopefully those will be short-term. The welcome template is in the process of being altered to link to those threads, and a message may be thrown on the news section as well. Astranath, it's not that you were linking to that thread - which is still available after my archiving, I might add - it's the way in which you were doing it. It seemed more of a 'I don't know why you are still editing here, but go over here' sort of thing. After it was brought to my attention that my actions were premature, considering the updated policies sticky wasn't even up yet, I went ahead and unblocked you. I don't mind at all linking to the thread, but I must be mindful that the way in which it is done - even if mentioning wowpedia, for instance - is in a way that still encourages people to contribute to this site, or at least doesn't attempt to pull them away. Content Edit

There's no way to judge "extent" except by looking at the template and trusting that users are both aware of it and are using it. The usage of the template both here and at wowpedia remains trivial, at best, and seems to focus mainly around pictures. Our stats, for instance, show that the template is used on less than one percent of our pages, which boils down to .1%. Raylan13 (talk) 14:39, September 5, 2012 (UTC)

WoWWiki has copied about 70 mainspace articles, while Wowpedia has copied 0 - the only thing they copied were some icons. Saying that it's not at the same extent is pretty much accurate. --Havenstrom (talk) 14:52, September 5, 2012 (UTC)

If you're going to astro-turf for Wowpedia, at least know your history. Pcj deleted the WoWWiki credit template early in 2011 and it wasn't even available for use for at least 5 months. Wowpedia admins do very little to inform their users about the WoWWiki credit template, but at WoWWiki we notify users when we suspect copying on their talk pages.[1] --Beware the sneaky smile! Fandyllic (talk · contr) 7 Sep 2012 11:21 AM Pacific
