Welcome! Edit

Hello, Hekirou, and welcome to the WoWWiki! Thank you for your contributions, and we encourage you to continue contributing!

Some useful notes:

  • As a community it is easier to get large amounts of maintenance and community projects done in teams - we like to encourage each wiki-user to join one or two. Check out Community teams for more info!

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a WoWWikian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, just ask on the relevant talk page, or visit the WoWWiki Forums.

Again, welcome!   --Pcj (TC) 12:03, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

quest Edit

I think you just needed to hard refresh, and or let the job queue catch up. :) There were no such links when I visited Whatlinkshere. --Sky (talk | con | wh) 07:08, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Hey, I noticed you adding elinks to the bottom of quest pages. Did you notice that the same elinks are in the box on the right hand side? :) --Sky (talk | con | wh) 01:37, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Copied from my page: Heya, got your message. Yes, I did notice that there were elinks in the infobox for, well, some of the quests I edited. Not all though - I kept having to hop over to wowhead to find the appropriate number ^_^ Anyway, for those that had the links in the infobox but not at the bottom, I assumed that the site would still want an internal consistency; every other classification of article that has external links - loot and mobs, notably, but also objects - has them in an equalled off Section at the bottom of the page. It seemed highly odd that quests and quests alone would have them in the infobox instead. Hekirou 20:54, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, try and stay consistent to Help:Quest articles. As for "quests and quests alone", I guess if you're looking at it that way... Either way, if you do add them, please note that WW:MOS states that headings should be lower case after the first word, unless the word is a proper noun.
While I've got you, I have two other questions. Is there any way to rename my account? I'm thinking of naming myself the name I generally use on either Wikipedia or Wikia [which, unfortunately, isn't the same name]. Hell, if I could merge this account with my general wikia account, since I believe WoWWiki is part of wikia, I would do that instead, but I'm not sure if that's even possible.
Also, how do you find out your edit count? I know mine isn't spectacular, but I'm quite curious. It'd be fun to see whether I edit WoWWiki or Wikipedia more :D Hekirou 20:57, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Start counting. With account merging, just wait for Wikia to finish merging the stuff it needs to. There should be something on that page that indicates what you should do if you want the account merged. We can't rename users here, as the extension which allows it isn't installed on WoWWiki. --Sky (talk | con | wh) 21:11, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

Yes-check Done issues Edit

The problem you're having with {{done}} is that you actually uploaded a .png, despite the .svg extension on the filename. The wiki does not currently support .svg uploads and the scaler that MediaWiki uses doesn't handle transparency in scaled .pngs all that well. (See WW:SR).

For the time being, if you want an image at some specific size, open up your favorite image manipulation program, scale it to the size you want, then upload it as <imagename>-x-y.png. --User:Kaydeethree/Sig 18:28, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

I've fixed {{done}}. Take a look at Image:icon-check-22x22.png. Until they get .svg uploads working properly we've got to rescale the images ourselves before we upload them for the most part (unless they're images without transparency, the scaler can handle those just fine). A larger version is also available at Image:icon-check-48x48.png if necessary. (I've got your talk page on my watchlist. If you reply here, I'll see it too.) --User:Kaydeethree/Sig 17:03, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks! I'm a bit confused though, I thought it would work if I converted it to .gif format. Unless Photoshop's "Save for Web" doesn't really make it a gif. Either way, thank you for the fix! I see {{done}} used all over Wikipedia talk and project pages, and it's so damn useful, I hope it sees some use here :) I left it at 300x300 because it looked like crap when it shrunk down, which again I thought was only a .svg problem. Maybe I just don't know as much as I thought about image formats :D Hekirou 17:20, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
