Item Articles
Would it be possible for you to use Boilerplate:Item when updating old articles? That way, we (coughIcough) don't have to revisit them in the future to really update them. Let me know here.--Sky 11:35, 16 March 2007 (EDT)
- I apologize. I thought all of these items were broken and was just trying to clean up. So the boiler plate is broken then? --Kitan 11:37, 16 March 2007 (EDT)
- I am a complete noob in wiki sense. I wanted to contribute and saw the red stars and broken icons, assuming from Zeal's tooltip update, and thought I could help. What exactly should I be doing? Changing the item page to look like the boilerplate or some how link to the boiler plate? --Kitan 11:39, 16 March 2007 (EDT)
The former. :)--Sky 11:39, 16 March 2007 (EDT)
And no need to apologize. We were all nublets at some point or another. :)
- It's easiest to get an idea of how to use it by looking at one of the newer items, such as Auchenai Staff.--Sky 11:43, 16 March 2007 (EDT)
- Ok I will try to start over in rare items and start using the new way. Thanks for the heads up. --Kitan 11:46, 16 March 2007 (EDT)
How is this update, Arachnid Gloves, Sky? --Kitan 12:31, 16 March 2007 (EDT)
- Great! You did miss a few things, and I fixed those. I also tweaked a few things. :) Have a look at the history to see what.--Sky 15:20, 16 March 2007 (EDT)
Welcome!
Hello, Kitan, and welcome to the WoWWiki! Thank you for your contributions, and we encourage you to continue contributing!
Some useful notes:
- The things to do category has lots of thing to keep you busy!
- Some WoWWikians are also very often on our IRC Channel, chat.freenode.net, #wowwiki.
- As a community it is easier to get large amounts of maintenance and community projects done in teams - we like to encourage each wiki-user to join one or two. Check out Community teams for more info!
- WoWWiki isn't an absolute democracy, but many decisions are voted on. See a list of votes in progress.
- Check out the site guidelines and policies!
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a WoWWikian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, just ask on the relevant talk page, or visit the WoWWiki Forums.
Bot stuff
Glad to see another botter :) Whenever your bot user is ready, just poke Kirkburn to flag it. Also, if you are planning to make a lot of changes, it would be really nice to sometimes pop over IRC - it just gets things done so much faster. Thanks! --Adys 05:35, 30 March 2007 (EDT)
- Thanks for the welcome Adys. I can't log into IRC while at work behind the firewall but I will try to do so before doing any massive updates. I chose a small update, Quality template, to start with anyway so any changes should be small in nature. Kitan T / C / B 10:53, 30 March 2007 (EDT)
- Your WWclub templates have changed "venerable members of the 2500 club" to "notable members of the 500 club." Just letting you know. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 11:55, 5 April 2007 (EDT)
- I believe that this is an error in the {{Wwclub}} template actually. I have been checking users as the bot updates them and did notice that you had the 500 text. I have noted it and plan on changing any that have issues. The reason I did this one now is that the N is only 40 so I can easily just update others. Yours is the only problem I have seen so far. Thank you for the comment though. KitanBot 12:00, 5 April 2007 (EDT)
- Indeed it was an error in the template. I have fixed it. KitanBot 12:20, 5 April 2007 (EDT)
