Welcome

Welcome to WoWWiki!
As you already have, we hope you can continue to help the community and vice versa :-)
If you have any questions, someone will gladly answer them, or you could drop them at the reference desk.
We just wanted to say welcome, and to encourage you to continue contributing! --Fandyllic (talk)

Want to help more? Join a team!

As a community it is easier to get large amounts of maintenance and community projects done in teams - we like to encourage each wiki-user (also known as WoWWikians) to join one or two. Check out Community teams for more info! --Fandyllic (talk)

Want to participate? Vote!

WoWWiki isn't an absolute democracy, but many decisions are voted on. Also, we encourage members to vote on site policies. See a list of votes in progress or a list of policy proposals. --Fandyllic (talk) 2:58 PM PDT 6 Sep 2006

Is there any way you can be a liaison to Blizz?

I don't know how much you visit WoWWiki, but if there is any way you could help us work better with Blizzard on issues like DCMA problems, it would be very helpful. Some of the problems are inherent to a wiki, but other problems can be resolved or prevented with just better communication. It would be nice to know if it is okay to use images (link them into WoWWiki rather than uploading) from the official WoW sites or if they'd like us to just not use them at all. --Fandyllic (talk) 2:58 PM PDT 6 Sep 2006

PING? Looks like you're either not reading your discussion page or you can't answer? --Fandyllic (talk) 7:25 PM PDT 23 Oct 2006

Sorry about that, Fandyllic, I thought I'd responded to that on your discussion page. Blizzard wasn't able to give me any feedback on that at all, unfortunately. The response I got was more or less boilerplate, referring me (and I suppose by proxy you) to the main blizzard site and contact information.

I must have missed your comment. It seems like if you're not a gaming news site, Blizzard won't give you the time of day. Well, I suppose WoWWiki needs to get super popular before Blizzard will care. By the way, you should put a signature on your messages, so people know you said them. Just put --~~~ after your message (time and date are optional). --Fandyllic (talk) 4:31 PM PDT 25 Oct 2006
It would be nice to join the fan sites program, but it's rather dependant on Rustak and how much time he has. The gold ads are probably the main sticking point now. As to the wowwiki's popularity, we're as popular as worldofwar.net [1] and gaining on CG [2] :) -- Kirkburn (talk) 19:47, 25 October 2006 (EDT)

Greetings

Been a follower of some of your posts on the Blizzard forums. You are a lot more patient and dedicated than I can ever be with some of the drivel that gets posted there. Good luck with the future and thanks for assisting us here.--Dracomage 12:29, 7 September 2006 (EDT)

And it's welcome from me as well - it's good to see you here! Well said, Dracomage. -- Kirkburn (talk) 13:39, 7 September 2006 (EDT)

You folks are awesome. I really love this site. It's a little daunting trying to get into the mechanics of it. I've always been better with, you know, ENGLISH as a language. However, I've already learned a lot about the system, and a good bit about the game as well. I hope to be a regular participant. --Palehoof 15:05, 7 September 2006 (EDT)

That's great to hear :) We needed someone to write the MVP article anyway ;) -- Kirkburn (talk) 15:33, 7 September 2006 (EDT)

Icons

Hullo! Just a quick note to point out WoWWiki:WoW Icons. We're currently sorting out the icon collection on here to all be correctly named and in the PNG format, so you shouldn't need to upload new images in many cases :) Less work for you! -- Kirkburn (talk) 13:23, 27 September 2006 (EDT)
