The LFG Levels[]

The levels in the LFG are quite off, logically speaking. The LFG for Deadmines starts at 16 ... but I wouldn't invite a level 16 into my Deadmines group. And even though it's still there when I am 23, I am off doing Stockades by now. They do this because this is when you "gain prime experience points" and yes, while something COULD drop for a level that low or high -- it's unlikely. Theres a boundary for instances that the LFG exceeds. The levels stated on that page are for practicality usage not LFG exact specifications. --TeeSon5 (talk) 15:48, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

Hmm..well Blizz reckons 16-24 on this page. I think there may be inconsistencies between that page and what's now in game for LFG due to dungeon nerfing, but surely if we're stating 'recommended level' it's Blizz recommended level not a subjective one? paulbrock (talk) 16:02, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
Half of the World of Warcraft Official Website is outdated ... at least the lowbie stuff likes Guides and what not, and this is not an exception. While I have seen players in the low-mid 20s run Deadmines, it's usually to accommodate a friend. We shouldn't be suggesting to low players to run Deadmines in the mid 20s when the logical thing to do is to move onward to Stockades. --TeeSon5 (talk) 16:06, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
I can see your point, and agree that the blizz/lfg ranges can be circumspect; going 'by the book' can easily result in a group too high or low for a partiular instance. But my reasoning for using the 'official' ranges are:
1) the 'official' ranges are used in game mechanisms, like LFG and summoning stones; there have been a couple of times at least on the Instances by level talk page, where users have expected the ranges shown to tie in with the LFG ranges.
2) if we don't use blizz ranges then how do we determine the ranges? You say players will be moving from DM to Stocks in the mid 20s, but according to the page a lvl 22 character should be doing neither...I guess I see a page like this as more about presenting 'just the facts' and leaving the indivudal instance pages to be more a guide offering advice on lvl, class makeup, etc. paulbrock (talk) 16:23, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
Well, I like going my common sense and having people use common knowledge to just know stuff. I didn't learn about Wowhead or WoWWiki until after I had played WoW for a few years myself and learned everything from experience so I guess I expect more from newbs. However, if you want to make it pure fact, then I guess you may -- but nobody should really be farming EXP in instances anyways... there should be quests. And if I was, I would do DM from 17-22ish and then Stocks until 29 then Scarlet Monestary to low 40s.TeeSon5 (talk) 16:29, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
