Welcome Edit

Welcome to WoWWiki! Hope you can help the community and vice versa :-)
If you have any questions, someone will gladly answer them, or you could drop them at the reference desk.
We just wanted to say welcome, and to encourage you to contribute! --Fandyllic (talk)

Want to help? Join a team! Edit

As a community it is easier to get large amounts of maintenance and community projects done in teams - we like to recruit each new wiki-user (also known as WoWWikians) to join one or two. Check out Community teams for more info! --Fandyllic (talk)

Want to participate? Vote! Edit

WoWWiki isn't an absolute democracy, but many decisions are voted on. Also, we encourage members to vote on site policies. See a list of votes in progress or a list of policy proposals. --Fandyllic (talk) 1:38 PM PDT 7 Jun 2006

Tolkien vs. Warcraft Edit

I see you're drawing parallels (and probably rightly so) between Tolkien and Warcraft. You might want to be a little more kind to the Moriquendi, if you remember that many of them lived in the Doriath, kingdom of Elu Thingol who was wed to Melian, an angelic like Maia. These elves were most like the Night Elves of Warcraft. I think it is somewhat inaccurate to equate the Night Elves with the Vanyar and the Teleri (known for their sailing skills) and similarly inaccurate to equate the Blood Elves with the Noldor who shared more interests with dwarves than with magic, per se. --Fandyllic 1:37 PM PDT 7 Jun 2006

Mechanics and such Edit

I have noticed your edits on a few pages related to in-universe design development and real-world mechanics. I assumed you were extrapolating and streamlining lore into fan fiction, until I read your post on Talk:Boat: "I've added a new segment about boats that actually appear in game. My goal with this segment is to increase general awareness of the actual mechanics and real-world sailing practicality of the ships in world of warcraft." While not false, keep in mind that Blizzard's definitions and nomenclature are supreme to real ones, if they contradict. Also, please do not make lore bigger than it actually is, such as turning "Recently shredders got anti-air weaponry." (not really that blunt) into "More recently, goblins have turned their engineering prowess to defeating their gnomish and dwarven counterparts by outfitting their familiar and time-tested shredders with anti-air weaponry."[1] Thank you.--SWM2448 21:59, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
