Re: Server?
I play across a variety of servers; recently I've been playing on Durotan, Maiev (PvP), and Wymrest Accord (RP). I use Durotan a lot for work, but the latter two are my "downtime" servers. Just so you know, though, I generally keep communication confined to the wiki and not the game ;) Raylan13 (talk) 20:56, May 28, 2011 (UTC)
Ogre
Ogres would be awesome. The only classes they couldn't be would be Priest, Druid, or Rogue. I don't know how a 3rd faction would work. Maybe have a Good, Neutral, Evil alignment, like EverQuest. Zmario 21:44, June 3, 2011 (UTC)
Dun Morogh
Nope - just helping out someone with updates and formatting. Back to the Lost Isles for me. Raylan13 (talk) 18:40, June 5, 2011 (UTC)
Game
Everything I do related to Warcraft is primarily on this site; also, there's not much free time I can devote to other things atm. I'll have to respectfully decline your offer, though it is appreciated. Raylan13 (talk) 01:27, June 7, 2011 (UTC)
NPC levels
I reverted the level change for Aggra, because it would be pretty confusing to someone coming in to see that she's level 85 with less than 200 health. If you see NPCs that have multiple levels depending on location, just make it a level range (i.e. 10-85) in the infobox, and then make the level/mana changes to match in the same fashion. Raylan13 (talk) 14:06, June 16, 2011 (UTC)
- Also for pages, in-game screenshots are preferred, as per image policy. Other pics are fine, of course, but they shouldn't be used to replace those that are taken in the game. I popped the .png for Aggra down into a Media section; I assume it's her with the Earthen Ring, so I labeled it as such. Raylan13
(talk) 14:24, June 18, 2011 (UTC)
- Thrall would be under the same rule, yeah. By and large, the in-game ss or official artwork should take precedence; if there's no available pic, though, then a model viewer shot would be just fine, and there's nothing saying such shots can't be popped into a media section, either. Raylan13

Just wanted to offer a prime example of when a model viewer pic is more than appropriate to use. I popped one into Dark Ranger Elite because I neglected to grab a ss at the time of the battle; that, and the rangers tend to gallop around pretty quickly. So I put in a mv pic, but then tagged the article with the ss needed message. The article also shows why mv shots aren't preferred, because the Rangers encountered are always mounted - the mv shot neglects to show any sort of mount. ;) Raylan13 (talk) 20:03, June 18, 2011 (UTC)
Pictures
I'm not sure exactly what you mean by what do I use, but it's just a matter of taking an in-game ss (usually "print screen") and then editing them in any sort of picture program to resize, etc. I use Corel Paint Shop Pro X2, but even the simplest program should suffice. As for getting close to the mobs in order to take a picture, it's easiest with either a Rogue ([Stealth]), Hunter ([Eagle Eye]/[Camouflage]), or a Shaman ([Far Sight]). Obviously a Druid could be used while in cat form to stealth around as well. Raylan13 (talk) 20:50, August 6, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for adding Tier 13 images

Chat
Sorry I missed you. I'm at work, so I couldn't chat for more than a minute or two. Maybe I'll see you on chat sometime when I'm not at work. --

Ditto here. I'll keep an eye open if you happen to pop into chat while I'm on, but if it's something that can be discussed off-chat, don't hesitate to post on either of our talk pages. Raylan13 (talk) 01:03, September 30, 2011 (UTC)

Orgrimmar thief
Actually, I have seen one of them when I was working on my cooking daily. They're the objective of Even Thieves Get Hungry, which we apparently don't have a page for. Raylan13 (talk) 01:18, November 5, 2011 (UTC)
Pictures...
Unless it's something else you're asking (and feel free to elaborate if it is) I answered this question a few sections up. Raylan13 (talk) 01:32, November 5, 2011 (UTC)
- Well, what do you mean?
I'm not sure what you're asking exactly. Raylan13(talk) 01:45, November 5, 2011 (UTC)
- It's just a matter of getting close to the NPC/mob (either physically, or with the abilities I've noted in the previous Pictures section) and hitting alt+z to hide your interface. Scroll in so that you are in first person view, however you do that with your system - mine is with the mouse wheel. Then you can hit "print screen". The screenshot will be saved to your computer, usually in the Screenshots folder of your World of Warcraft folder. Then rename them (a must, as per policy) and crop them down to close around the NPC/mob. Raylan13

Glad to help! And any help is always appreciated. Raylan13 (talk) 02:13, November 5, 2011 (UTC)
- The starting zones can use a once-over. Gnome and troll probably need it the most, if you're game. Raylan13
(talk) 04:15, November 5, 2011 (UTC)
Don't worry too much. To be honest, there's always going to be something to update. There's still content from Wrath of the Lich King and The Burning Crusade that could be fleshed out. Every little bit helps. Raylan13 (talk) 04:43, November 5, 2011 (UTC)
Chat is spotty at best for me. I'm on now, but only for a very short time. Raylan13 (talk) 06:42, November 5, 2011 (UTC)
Screenshots
Sure, that sounds good, if you're not quite comfortable making the NPC/mob pages yourself. I'd put them as a subpage of your user page, though, otherwise your user page is going to get big pretty quick. I can snag the pics as I move along, then delete those subpages once everything's carried over to the individual NPC/mob pages. TBH, it will take a little while, as I'm working somewhat with a set schedule for updating zones. Raylan13 (talk) 20:39, November 5, 2011 (UTC)
- Nice! They look good. What I meant by creating a subpage is that you could put them at User:RaceLord/Echo Isles as a separate page, then make subpages for other zones you might do. It's entirely up to you, of course, but they look nice either way! Raylan13
(talk) 21:16, November 5, 2011 (UTC)
I'm here, but have to concentrate on what I'm doing for the next hour. Trying to get through some sections before I call it a day. Raylan13 (talk) 23:11, November 5, 2011 (UTC)
The next patch should be pretty fun. Darkmoon Faire, transmogrification and void storage, not to mention new dungeons. Of course, Mists of Pandaria is likely coming next year with a host of changes. Looking forward to that. Anyway, going for the evening - pics look good and are very much appreciated! Raylan13 (talk) 00:00, November 6, 2011 (UTC)
Winterspring
Since the Cataclysm, there's a big chasm between Winterspring and Mount Hyjal, I believe where Darkwhisper Gorge runs. There used to be a bridge there, but this was destroyed. Raylan13 (talk) 01:32, November 8, 2011 (UTC)
- For the sake of the section, gaining access by dying isn't counted. Those sections have to do with how to directly get from zone a to zone b without any sort of trick. Flying is still included on there. Raylan13

I am currently working, but off-site for a little bit. I can still converse via talk page, however. Raylan13 (talk) 01:26, November 9, 2011 (UTC)

Working through my last bit for tonight, so busy. If there's anything you need, though, you can always leave a message on my talk page and I'll see what I can do! Raylan13 (talk) 04:38, November 17, 2011 (UTC)
- Can't do it, sorry. Like I said before, it's against the rules for anyone other than a minor of an account holder to share an account, even for the purposes you are describing. Raylan13

Recent uploads
First, as always, thanks for the work you're putting in. There's a few things to note that will help, however.
- First, you'll find a lot of information you need at wowhead.com.
- For item icons, go to wowhead and find the item, then click on the item's icon image. A little box will pop up, and its contents are what you copy and paste into the image field. We've got the majority of icons already loaded here; if you find there's one that isn't here, just let us know and we'll upload it.
- You'll also find other parts of the quest page that were missing, such as Description, Progress, and Completion sections which always have to be included (on rare occasions some will be without)
- For images, less is usually more. This makes less work for you and makes the page less cluttered. If it's a quest that needs pics, usually good things to include are cutscenes and any items you need to gather. Pics that make more work for you but that aren't really needed are loot text boxes, looting animations, and bag contents. These are things that players are already familiar with. Quest text goes along with this, as we put that in writing rather than via image.
- Maps are great, but not always needed. This is kind of a "if you want to, go ahead". We have a coordinates template that will show locations on the map of a particular zone, so if an item is pretty much in one location, all we need to use is that. If you go to Borstan's Firepit page, for instance, you'll see there are coordinates there, and a map will pop up when you hover over them. If items are scattered across an area, it's not a bad idea to make a map, but only if you really have the time/inclination.
I think that's pretty much it for now. The images you're taking are pretty good and cropped nicely, so keep up the good work! A good page to review for all sorts of information on the types of pages here is the Boilerplates page. Raylan13 (talk) 02:23, November 19, 2011 (UTC)
- I didn't even see the anniversary announcement until now. Pretty cool... Raylan13

Sure thing. Anything you can do to help would be appreciated! Raylan13 (talk) 03:00, December 3, 2011 (UTC)

Becoming an administrator
We will need to get more feedback from the community (I will put up a community corner notice soon), but Raylan13 and I have talked about making you a Moderator even if you aren't made an admin right away. This is a new kind of group that we haven't fully defined yet and currently has no members. It will have some special rights above normal users, but we haven't finalized which ones yet. The plan is to give it to users who are very active and have special wiki responsibilities for keep certain areas or subjects of the wiki up-to-date.
We'll let you know more as it comes together. --

Arch and DMF
Archaeology is learned at level 20. It says about half to three quarters of the way down the page. As for the Faire, I'll be stepping in tonight to gather up information, etc. Don't know if I'll end up actually posting much, as my method is to gather up a certain amount of information and then present it. Raylan13 (talk) 01:25, December 6, 2011 (UTC)
- You also need the Cataclysm expansion installed. Forgot to mention that. Raylan13
(talk) 02:11, December 6, 2011 (UTC)
Screenshots
For future reference, if there's already a screenshot on the page, please don't completely remove it unless it's a clearly superior pic (like the Torg Drakeflayer page). If you've got one that's just different, put it into a media section. By and large we want to stay away from removing content. If you're unsure, just put it into a media section. Raylan13 (talk) 01:33, December 7, 2011 (UTC)
- I did see that, but I don't have any two-person mounts. Raylan13
(talk) 02:53, December 7, 2011 (UTC)
Darkmoon Faire
Sure, go ahead. Just put them in a gallery-formatted media section for now. I'm still shifting things around/adding things, so I can spread them out once I get finished. NPC pics should go on their own pages, of course. Raylan13 (talk) 04:31, December 9, 2011 (UTC)
- Good idea! I'll take a look at those probably tomorrow and start plugging things in. Raylan13
(talk) 04:38, December 9, 2011 (UTC)
The pics would go on the quest pages that are related to the games. Raylan13 (talk) 15:38, December 9, 2011 (UTC)
Raid of Stormwind
As cool as it would be, Blizz is unlikely to do it unless an equivalent raid for Alliance could be thought up. Alliance raiding SW doesn't really make much sense. Also, a SW raid would probably have to happen in Caverns of Time, so the Alliance raid would probably have to be in the past also. --
Fandyllic (talk · contr) 9 Dec 2011 5:45 PM Pacific
- Not sure how you could get the Well of Eternity dungeon confused with a SW raid. The night elves were fighting other night elves plus lots of demons. --

Player pages
For pages that look like they're Player character pages, we typically give the benefit of the doubt and don't delete them or mark them with the speedy delete tag. We'll move them to a subpage of the user, let them know, and let them know about the existing player character policy so they can add the required information. Raylan13 (talk) 01:33, December 10, 2011 (UTC)

Yep, filling things out now. I've got all the screenshots, and I'm sorting through the ones you have as I go. Raylan13 (talk) 06:14, December 10, 2011 (UTC)

Yep. I'm finishing up WV today, then finishing up the Faire over the next few days. Should be finished well before it starts up again. Raylan13 (talk) 01:06, December 22, 2011 (UTC)

Animals
Of all the NPCs/mobs, yeah. I'll zip through the associated achievements, then the Faire is done for the most part. If there's anything left, it'll be small stuff. Raylan13 (talk) 02:19, December 24, 2011 (UTC)
To do?
I'm out for the day, but all the 1-20 zones need to run through and updated. Some won't have much, but others will take some work. Raylan13 (talk) 18:20, December 28, 2011 (UTC)
- So long as there's no NDA for the beta, you can take and post pictures. Usually it's a closed alpha (NDA in effect) and open beta (no NDA). You can take pictures in either, but can't share them if there's an NDA. Raylan13

Your recent contributions are very good quality. If you have some time and want to do some exploring in the game, here's the list of already-created pages that need screenshots. Raylan13 (talk) 15:26, September 30, 2012 (UTC)

Invitation
Especially in light of the recent massive upload of unique quality pics you had for the Shrine of Seven Stars as well as the work you've done, we'd like to award you with the Experts badge in Images. You can read more about the badge here. There's still some things to learn, but you've got a good chunk of it down and don't seem hesitant about asking questions.
Also, if you're interested, we'd like to promote you to a Patroller. This would give you a little more power to fight vandalism whenever you might come across it. Raylan13 (talk) 01:47, October 23, 2012 (UTC)
- Welcome back! We still need some help with screenshots. No need to go in order, of course; just peruse them and go for those that either interest you or your characters are already near. Raylan13
