Yup we need lots of help with updates
Any area you would like to focus on would be helpful. Feel free to ask questions on my talk page or the forums. If you know how to use wiki templates, there are many listed at WoWWiki:Templates that should be helpful. There is also Help:Updating for Mists of Pandaria if you want to focus on the recent expansion. -- (talk · contr) 6 Dec 2012 10:47 PM Pacific
Wallisthedoosh has been perma-banned. Thanks for the notification. If you can't edit the WW:V page in a few days, leave a message on my talk page. That page doesn't allow users less than 3 days old to edit it. -- (talk · contr) 8 Dec 2012 8:57 AM Pacific
User:Gromgar editing issues
I wasn't sure if it was my place to notify him.
Considering the information I edited into the wiki page did not remove any previous information, and that the information is based off of the game from several years ago, and the gear has been changed since then, as well as the item levels, I feel that it is far more appropriate for the information to be available at first sight on the wiki page, under the historical section, rather than on the talk page for it. The information previously given was either edited to be very wrong, or the original posters of it were gravely in err.
The talk page seems more appropriate for current topics, regarding things like the current and previous expansions. Item Level calculations is so far beyond old, that Blizzard as openly revealed their item levels on the gear, and completely changed how it works.
That being said, nobody has posted in the talk section of the Item Level page in over 3 years, coming up on its 4th.
This is my first time posting both under a talk page and under the wiki, and as such, I have no idea who you are, nor your rank in these matters. If this is in fact an issue from an admin, and the information will be deleted unless it is moved to the talk, I will naturally be forced to put it in the [dust laden] talk section. —This unsigned comment is by MM101 (talk • contribs) 15:33, December 11, 2012. We're definitely looking at you for patroller status; right now it's an issue of time. You've been editing for less than a week, and while your edits are certainly quality, we just want to give it a little more time before bumping you up. Along the same vein, though, we're also keeping an eye out for possible moderators, which is a step beyond patroller and would require more edits/time investment. You're on a great trajectory for both. Raylan13 (talk) 04:31, December 12, 2012 (UTC)
We only lightly monitor the Patch mirrors page because it is too much work to verify all the changes and no real way to validate the downloads in a timely fashion. We trust users to complain or notify us of bad links. This is why there is a big fat disclaimer at the top. We provide the space for users to advertise patch mirrors, but we don't police it much. -- (talk · contr) 12 Dec 2012 11:13 AM Pacific
I'll respond to this since I'm going to post another response here anyway. Basically videos are great to have and as long as they relate to whatever page they're put on, everything's fine, provided it's at least decent quality. The videos you're asking about are actually a good example of what is permissible.
On another note, we've done a quick review of your edits and have decided to offer you the patroller position if you're still interested. Just let me know. You can read more about the additional abilities you'll have here; if you've got any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Raylan13 (talk) 01:43, December 13, 2012 (UTC)
- Done! Raylan13 (talk) 02:03, December 13, 2012 (UTC)
- It's already been added and should appear next to your name in your profile box. You may have to ctrl+F5 in order to see it. Raylan13 (talk) 02:16, December 13, 2012 (UTC)
Autopatrol isn't disabled to my knowledge. Basically marking something as patrolled means someone has checked it for accuracy/vandalism, etc., meaning less work for others who are checking page edits. Having personal edits autopatrolled means we think that certain people have high enough quality of edits that we don't have to scrutinize what they're doing as much.
If you want, you can work on the companion page
- Actually, I know very little about the companions in the game, and I have found more updates I can do on the new MoP mounts page. RyanPT (talk) 17:26, December 17, 2012 (UTC)
There's quite a bit to work on. I'm not sure where your foci/interests lie, but I've got a very general listing on my profile page of tasks. Keep in mind that 1-6 and 16 are either done or I'm currently working on them. As far as listings go, if scouring those is interesting, a massive update of all the professions and achievements would be invaluable. Raylan13 (talk) 06:41, December 22, 2012 (UTC)
- Sounds good. Let me know if you've got any questions/need help. The format is a little different for those pages, but nothing too complicated. For the next few weeks at least I'll be on virtually every day in the morning and evening. Raylan13 (talk) 06:49, December 22, 2012 (UTC)
Weird. Looks like he added it to his talk page for no particular reason. Since he hasn't been back since the beginning of the year, however, doesn't look like there's any reason to keep it there. Raylan13 (talk) 04:29, December 23, 2012 (UTC)
- Seems to be working on my end. I went ahead and removed those links in the table and instead put it in a guides section - belonged there anyway. If it continues to be problematic, see if Fandyllic has any ideas. It doesn't look like it's a filtering issue. Raylan13 (talk) 21:18, December 24, 2012 (UTC)
- Excellent, thanks! Macrophager (talk) 03:11, December 25, 2012 (UTC)
First of all I didn`t change the page:you did. Second the only way for us to be 100% sure is to do the quest again. —This unsigned comment is by Dragonlover103 (talk • contribs) 13:14, December 25, 2012. Please sign your posts with ~~~~!
I think it the other way around. Well if it was your way that that was the type he is. So you kinda just agreeded with me. —This unsigned comment is by Dragonlover103 (talk • contribs) 13:22, December 25, 2012. Please sign your posts with ~~~~!
Don't worry much about the references then but I can show you how to sign your talk page comments. There is a button on your keyboard that looks like this ~, it should be found directly above you Tab key, and to the left of your 1 key. Hold shift and push it four times to sign your name and date to your posts. Macrophager (talk) 19:33, December 25, 2012 (UTC)
