Novels & Short Stories

I think I should clarify, the novel template is used to designate when info in an article originates from a "novel" or "short story", in any source. Because the concept of "sun paladin" originates from a short story rather than an RPG article, it is given the short story template.Baggins 05:08, 3 December 2006 (EST)

Wierd... I remember reading it saying it was from the RPG...... well sorry oops Saimdusan 00:00, 4 December 2006 (EST)

This is of similary related, Obsidian Statues. The warcraft III template, is to state the primary source of a particular unit information. That article has more to do with warcraft III than the WoW "Obsidian Destroyer" counterparts, and the lore that it quotes is mentioned only Warcraft III. We don't see Warcraft 3 style Obsidian Statues as we haven't reached Northrend yet.Baggins 18:18, 7 December 2006 (EST)
What about the dark trolls, Wormhead, etc.? Saimdusan 18:19, 7 December 2006 (EST)
Ya wormhead needs the template. The template is actually pretty new, and needs to be put on alot of articles. If you would like to help with that we would appreciate it.Baggins 18:21, 7 December 2006 (EST)
Ok then. Saimdusan 18:21, 7 December 2006 (EST)
Also there is related templates for Warcraft I, and Warcraft II as well if you see any sections or articles that need those templates. Again thanks for your help :).Baggins 18:26, 7 December 2006 (EST)
What about articles who only appear in previous games, but not simply Wc1, 2 or 3? Saimdusan 18:28, 7 December 2006 (EST)

Well if something appears in more than one source(that is all forms of media). There probably isn't much need for the template as it might actually clutter things. In those cases just citing page numbers, should be enough. Though if information about one of those topics, is primarily from one source and its in its own section, then put the related template within that section rather than at the front of the article. I hope I'm being clear. Just ask me if you have more questions.Baggins 18:32, 7 December 2006 (EST)

Ya, in the future I may actually combine more articles, and expand on previous established articles, for example, "Engineer lore"(to seperate from the profession in WoW) could cover information about engineers established in, the games, RPG and other sources. In which case for example "Blood Elf Engineer" section, wouldn't be needed as much in overall article. Though one could argue that it would fit best in the section on blood elf engineers, though may not necessarily be manditory.Baggins 18:40, 7 December 2006 (EST)

Start Location

Hmm ok a start location isn't really "lore", that's more game mechanics. We might want to create an additional stub is for game mechanics. What do you think?Baggins 19:32, 7 December 2006 (EST)

K then. It was under Lore? I don't know how that happened. But yeah the game mechanics thing is good Saimdusan 22:36, 7 December 2006 (EST)

Noticed you made the template. The image is not working. Saimdusan 22:36, 7 December 2006 (EST)

There is no image yet, haven't found a good one.Baggins 16:55, 8 December 2006 (EST)

How about the icon for Warcraft III? You know, the pic of the icon that you click to start it up. Saimdusan 03:25, 9 December 2006 (EST)

Well level editing and game mechanics exists in warcraft 1-3, so we need something that can define all 3. I think there was an icon of a picture of a "map" in warcraft II or III map editor but not sure. That might work well.Baggins 03:54, 9 December 2006 (EST)
The Wc3 World Editor didn't have a map, but it did have an icon. Unfortunately this icon looks like the Stub image.

Saimdusan 15:21, 9 December 2006 (EST)

Note quite, its a picture of a map, with an X being marked on part of the map. Its a bit differen than the stub image;
