Browser?

What browser do you use? Because your user page is really broken in both IE7 and FF. Side menu is halfway down the page, fonts are really small, top menu is messed up. Been like this for a while now, not sure if you realize or not so just giving you a heads up. -- Gryphon 22:45, 13 October 2006 (EDT)

IE6 right now, it was really just something I put together sloppily... hoping it would look fine in other browsers. I'll get around to making something better. However, I do have FF as well and it doesn't seem to look the way you described. Just a smaller page font. Sam Weber 22:46, 13 October 2006 (EDT)
In IE7 the side menu starts halfway down the page, my usual browser, I checked in FF and the menu is in the right place, just small fonts and the top menu is kind of separated from the content frame. Just wanted to make sure you knew :) I kind glanced through your code and it seemed ok, but it seems to act as if a table isn't closed or something I missed. --Gryphon 22:52, 13 October 2006 (EDT)
Thanks for the heads up. I was looking for a reason to do more of a simplistic layout to begin with. Sam Weber 22:56, 13 October 2006 (EDT)

Thanks!

For starting to correct the item cats Quest to Quest Rewards. --Dracomage 14:38, 24 October 2006 (EDT)

Pleasure. Still a lot to do in the Quest category. I try to do some of it each day. Sam Weber 14:49, 24 October 2006 (EDT)

Scilla is a PvP Server

Scilla is a PvP Server --Felnor 19:26, October 24, 2006 (EDT)

Sorry about that, just re-read and modifyed to include PvP

Sorry about that, just re-read what you had included. I will add a PvP section soon today to include that information. --Felnor 19:29, October 24, 2006 (EDT)

Gotcha, sorry. Should've let you expand on the article before taking the liberty to adding that you were a PvE guild. Sam Weber 15:33, 24 October 2006 (EDT)

Garbage Collection

Saw your speedy delete tag on the Garbage Collection test page... That was certainly a quick response!, but it begs the question... Was this page brought to your attention for review, or did you come across it during your wiki wanderings?

The reason I ask is I am working on a proposal for automated garbage page collection, and I'm not sure if this is even necessary at this point. It all depends on how many garbage pages are created vs. how quickly they are cleaned up...

Oh, btw-what is the purpose of the Gambit pipe in the category tag?

Thanks- Cassieopeia

Howdy. I'm an avid recent changes page viewer, as well as a member of the RC Patrol. When I'm not editing pages, I'm always looking for things to fix! ;) As for Gambit, I added a couple cats to narrow down what type of guild it is. Always good to have more cats (did this answer your question? Wasn't really sure about the pipe comment). Sam Weber 17:01, 24 October 2006 (EDT)
There were 4 category tags on our Gambit guild page (Guilds, RP Guilds, Alliance Guilds, and Feathermoon Guilds) (I don't know how to display tags without making them tags, if you'll bear with me...). Your edit was to add a piped Gambit (i.e. '| Gambit') to each of them after the category name. I'm not sure, but they seem to look and behave the same, so I was wondering what the purpose was? -- Cassieopeia 14:36, 24 October 2006 (PST)
Oh, right. Adding that after a category sorts the created article within the category page. For your example, |Gambit put your Gambit page within the G section under Guilds and the other cats. Without it, they would always be in Q for Quest. Sam Weber
Oooo, neato! thx for the tip, but why would they be under Q otherwise?!? -- Cassieopeia
'Quest' isn't a 'real' namespace, so the Quest is a real part of the page name. Hmm, perhaps someone should ask Rustak to look into it ...
Meanwhile, if you stick in a space like so 'Blah| Gambit', it will go to the first spot in the category list, before A. -- Kirkburn (talk) 19:11, 24 October 2006 (EDT)
However, please do not do this unless it deserves to be at the top. Pages should almost always go within the specific letter category. Usually the | Gambit should only be used if it's some type of special page within the category. Sam Weber 19:21, 24 October 2006 (EDT)
Good point. A good example would be the page 'Battlegrounds' within Category:Instances. -- Kirkburn (talk) 20:07, 24 October 2006 (EDT)
Ahhhh...<scratches head> Something tells me this isn't the only 'gotcha' in the Wiki World ; p! I'm probably opening a can of worms, but where would I look to learn about this kind of Wiki esoterica (it's not in the quirks page)? --Cas 22:57, 24 October 2006 (EDT)
Just from a couple of months of experience, in my case. :) -- Kirkburn (talk) 06:52, 25 October 2006 (EDT)
Yea, it just takes a bit to learn your way around. A good idea would be to look around at the source on some of the already made articles and see how the code is done here at WoWWiki. And remember to press "Show preview" when editing a page! Sam Weber 09:16, 25 October 2006 (EDT)
Cassieopeia, anyone on the Wiki can tag something for deletion if they feel it is warranted, even yourself. Some that have questionable content will need a majority vote, however some that are obviously of no loss can be subject to instant deletion. Admins watch the deletion categories and delete articles when they are due. --Gryphon 17:14, 24 October 2006 (EDT)
Indeed we do :) Cassieopeia, I should just mention that we're not wikipedia, and we're far more relaxed around here. No edit wars over a word in a policy for us! I would recommend 'experiencing' the wiki a little longer to get a feel for how we work before starting with big projects. In the past some have come and started giant projects ... only to burn out or lose interest halfway through. Not a pretty sight :( I liked the test though, something I've not had before ;) -- Kirkburn (talk) 19:01, 24 October 2006 (EDT)

Thanks for all the info! You can delete this section if you want... Cas 23:16, 27 October 2006 (EDT)

Uncategorised Creatures

This is a valid category - in gameplay terms they literally are uncategorised. Check Creatures. :) -- Kirkburn (talk) 16:59, 24 October 2006 (EDT)

Roger. I was unsure, was going to revert them back. Thanks ;) Oh, and it states Oozes are as well, yet the cat on the page states they are of the Oozes category. Are they no longer uncategorized creatures? Sam Weber
Isn't an uncategorized category an oxymoron ; p? - Is there a simple way to clarify wiki categories vs. game categories? I need a shorter name
Heh. I added the Ooze category to it now, btw -- Kirkburn (talk) 17:38, 24 October 2006 (EDT)

Shaman level 20 Quest page

I did the level 20 shaman quest and if there is anything you want me to do with it just tell me but i plan on adding more to it User:SuperShammy (my bad for puting my info up here i could'nt get it anywhere else on our page so just delete it once you have read it)

Hello! Thanks for adding the quest pages, I added the cleanup header because it wasn't in style with the other quest pages. For an example, check out Destroy_Morphaz. Notice the different sections sanctioned by the headers. Sam Weber 12:24, 28 October 2006 (EDT)

I can do that way then. they only problem would be the graphing part, im not sure how to put graphs on pages.--SuperShammy 15:52, 28 October 2006 (EDT)SuperShammy
