Paladin Edit

I can't see from the lore presented here about the reasons for the departure from the blood elf faction, how that being a class whose powers are gained from a being the blood elves have captured, probably using demonic magic no less, could be justified. In other words, anyone who would take on the stolen powers of the naaru that the blood elves have captures, would not seem to be a candidate to break away from the blood elves, nor would it seem that the blood elves would allow that person access to the naaru powers in any case.

Also, it is unclear how an outlaw from the blood elves would obtain a blood elf mount, so some lore about that may be in order.

Also, you may want to add the 'please don't move' note to the top of this page as that is where people will be looking for it most likely.

Thanks for the reply, though like I said this is work in progress. Give me a bit of time and I'll make sure it's all included in the lore. Just for a quick brief here, the presense of the Paladin and the hawkstrider in wood elf society give me a bit more freedom of movement in planning for the Burning Crusade; it would be difficult to execute in-game if I didn't have mounts to give my people or one extra class to beef up the wood elf population with (though I may scrap the idea... warlocks are a no-no though). Here's some lore reasons...

Paladin - blood elves lost their affinity with the Holy Light by turning down a darker path and so had to regain power by stealing it from another entity ie. the naaru. The wood elves that served as high elf paladins in the Silver Hand never lost this bond and continue to use the Light to this day (I'm unsure whether I should keep the Light as the religion of the wood elves though... this needs debate). In-game wood elf Paladins wouldn't ride the Blood Knight mount for obvious reasons.

Hawkstrider - it's simple - hawkstriders are a type of creature commonly encountered in the land of Quel'Thalas. Why shouldn't the wood elves be able to tame them as easily as the blood elves?

Actually, there were a few ("high elves rarely become paladins" ^{WoWRPG 54, 77}). True, not many, but a few. Either way, paladins in the Tel'dorei forces are now non-existant. ---- Vorbis Talk Contribs

Well, I intended them to be compatible with the blood elf class setup so I tried to shape the lore around class choices. Considering the fact that I no longer intend to do anything with them in-game (actually, anything else come to think of it...), I guess druidism would indeed be a logical choice. ---- Vorbis Talk Contribs

It would certainly fit, but I'd rather the race info box was not packed with classes nor the roles of the wood elves given too much detail - I could easily add Scout, Melee Hunter, Sharpshooter and a multitude of others, but they fit fine under the general title of "Hunter" (or indeed, "Ranger"). ---- Vorbis Talk Contribs

Mages and paladins don't really fit, they were just wedged in as an excuse for wood elf player paladins and mages. As for your second point... I really don't know. ---- Vorbis Talk Contribs

Mr.X8, I don't really want to add any more classes as of yet (but if you have other ideas, I'd love to hear them!).

• In any case, Runemasters are entirely un-wood-elf-ish: "they merge brute strength with arcane magic" and "take down foes with toe-to-toe, all-out assaults, hammering them with tattooed fists and feet brimming with arcane power". The wood elves I have constructed, however, distrust arcane magic and prefer ranged combat and subterfuge to all-out assaults.
• The eventuality of the wood elves making amends with the night elves and high elves is part of the spectrum we call "the future". Though it may work out like that, at this point in Warcraft time I have no plans to do so. First of all, they're in the Horde... nevertheless, I suppose they may be welcomed by the Cenarion Circle.
• Leon is wearing the "Nordrassil" chestplate - it fits pretty well, I think. ---- Vorbis Talk Contribs

Technically, yes, as there is no copyright but Blizzard's when it comes to Warcraft. However, *I* would prefer it if you didn't as he is my character and I'd much like to keep him as I see him.

They made the transition to "blood elf" along with the rest of their kin when Kael returned from Dalaran; though as they fled from Quel'thalas before the blood elves started practicing dark magic, physically they differ little from the high elves.
