Var'gazul was the last chief (or emperor) of the Gurubashi Empire.
As is told in The Fall of Gurubashi, Var'gazul prepared "plans of conquest" with the help of Min'loth and his witchdoctors. It is unknown who was the enemy of the Empire at the time.
For some reasons, either the plans of conquest, or the water magic used by Min'loth, caused the wrath of Neptulon to come upon an unsuspecting Empire. The waters of the Great Sea, and the Krakken monsters destroyed all the land west of Zul'Gurub. As the waters receded, the Empire was no more.
