Vellum

Vellum is a type of paper made with inscription for use by enchanters to store enchants for later use. This allow for the trade and sale of enchantments without the enchanter and client meeting face-to-face. Different types of vellum are needed depending on the level of the item to enchant or the type of enchantment.

Notes

• Unlike gear, vellums can not enchanted in the "will not be traded" slot of the trade window. Simply because when enchanted a new item is created.
  • Think of it not as enchanting a piece of paper but creating an item that will do an enchant.
• Vellums were designed for the sole purpose of allowing the enchanter to sell enchants via the auction house, or to mail them to their other characters on the same realm/faction, who, before WotLK, could not receive enchants from themselves.
