Volatile Shadow was a new Eternal Shadow or Primal Shadow of Cataclysm. It was supposed to have a chance to drop while mining Obsidian (renamed to Obsidium), but was never fully implemented. It appears to have been added in a deprecated state in Patch 4.0.3 and not attached to any source or as an ingredient for anything.
