<class>, listen closely. Now that we have the location of the last amulet piece, we still need another component to suffuse the brazier with; something that will provide a focus strong enough to summon the remains of my deceased, former comrades.

Now all that is left is to get into The Crimson Throne inside The Scarlet Bastion at Stratholme, and use the brazier to summon forth the remains of my former cohorts, Jarien and Sothos. Their souls have been twisted further by their possession of Valthalak's amulet piece and his spirit within.

Some also ponder the fact that the name is more than just a tribute, and that it might have a deeper meaning. The fact that he obviously takes the phylactery of Kel'Thuzad for himself (or unknown masters) may be a hint to show that Kel'Thuzad might be Montoy's father (as the quote mentioned above would suggest), or some other close relative. Alternatively, Montoy's father could have been killed by Kel'Thuzad.

Context

Inigo Montoy is the quest giver in Light's Hope Chapel who receives Inv misc urn 01 [The Phylactery of Kel'Thuzad] after Kel'Thuzad was defeated the first time in the Eastern Plaguelands.

Inigo Montoy seems to get his name from Inigo Montoya, from the book The Princess Bride by William Goldman. Inigo's best known line is "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." However, in World of Warcraft, there is no clear idea who is his father.

In the movie version of The Princess Bride, when Inigo is confronting his father's killer, he goes through a small dialogue in which his father's killer breaks down and says he will give him anything he wishes. Inigo says "I want my father back, you son of a bitch," and kills him.

This article or section includes speculation, observations or opinions possibly supported by lore or by Blizzard officials. It should not be taken as representing official lore.
