It requires a bit of hiking. To start off, head to the Gnome/Dwarf starting area, look on the map and you should see a small frozen pond on the map, head to it, then turn south to one of the troll huts. Behind the correct troll hut there is a little "valley" blocked by a large tree, get behind the hut, jump around the tree, and run up the sloping "valley" until the height becomes too great to climb. Get on your mount and turn around. To the north side you should see a hill at about the same elevation, with some lucky jumping you should manage to make it to it. From there you should be able to easily find your way up and through the mountains until you reach the valley. Heading south along the mountains becomes impossible due to extreme slopes.

Western Dun Morogh Valley

The hidden valley.

West of the entrance to Gnomeregan is a broad valley running north from Coldridge to the mountains bordering the northern end of Dun Morogh.

The valley is clearly visible on the zone map (like the Dun Morogh airfield), but has no name. No mobs are present either, but unlike many unfinished zones, this area is fully textured and the terrain is fleshed out and clean.

This zone can be reached easiest when past level 40 when you have 100% speed mount. It requires a bit of hiking. To start off, head to Coldridge Valley, the Gnome/Dwarf starting area, look on the map and you should see a small frozen pond on the map, head to it, then turn south to one of the troll huts.

Purpose

It is possible that this could be the area above Gnomeregan, since the dungeons' layout about matches the area.
