+ | == What is this about? == |
||
− | Wildvine is a Herb that can be gathered by Herbalists. |
||
− | == Source == |
||
− | Wildvine is not gathered independently, but piggybacks on Purple Lotus. It can also be found dropping from the Skullsplitter trolls in Stranglethorn Vale or the Witherbark and Vilebranch trolls in The Hinterlands. |
||
+ | I (Enalung) will be using this page as a place to take notes while I built my own UI. This will include macros I'm working on, keybinds, things that I have found work and don't work. This will include macros which I have not yet posted on Useful_macros_for_druids as well as custumised versions of theses macros. |
||
− | == Wildvine as an Ingredient == |
||
− | Wildvine is used in the following recipes: |
||
+ | This will serve as a draft for a page detailing the basics of a good druid UI. I have 2 druids and cover all 3 specs. The final goal is to find a highly responsive setup which works for both pve and pvp. Part of my goal is also to avoid confusion between my own keybind by finding a design which is intuitive no matter the form / spec I'm in. |
||
− | === Alchemy === |
||
− | * Wildvine Potion |
||
− | + | == Addons == |
|
+ | === Bartender === |
||
− | * Wildthorn Mail |
||
+ | I am using bartender for bars. Bartender is currently setup with 3 bars. In balance or resto, those bars do not page. On my dual feral druid, the bars only page for bear form. In cat form, or caster, they remain the same. I make use of several shapeshifting macros which first take me to cat form, stealth if not in combat and then use an ability. |
||
− | === Engineering === |

||
− | * Wild Leather Boots |
||
− | * Wild Leather Cloak |
||
− | * Wild Leather Leggings |
||
− | * Wild Leather Shoulders |
||
+ | Resto has very few actual keybinds. Most everything is done using a combinason of Grid and Clique. I make use of a few mouseover macros. |
||
− | === Tailoring === |
||
− | * Dreamweave Gloves |

||
+ | * Chalenging Roar |

||
+ | |||
+ | * Add Bear charge. Currently, shifting to bear and then charging is not responsive enough. |
||
+ | |||
+ | == Keybinds == |
||
+ | === Modifiers === |
||
+ | |||
+ | This setup makes heavy use of modifiers in order to keep all abilities as close as can be to the movement keys. Some of the key combinasons proposed here will almost certainly seem awkward to reach. Both CTRL and ALT are rebound to the mouse in order to make those key combos easy to reach. For some users, this will not be possible. This setup is not meant to be an ultimate and final solution, it is meant to give ideas. |
||
+ | |||
+ | * Nomod: Used for primary *spam* type damage abilities. |
||
+ | * Shift: Used to quickly setup a new focus. |
||
+ | * CTRL: Used for secondary *on cooldown* or *every 5-20 seconds* type abilities. |
||
+ | * Alt: Used for interupts |
||
+ | |||
+ | === Movement Keys === |
||
+ | |||
+ | There are 2 main setups for movement keys. WASD and ESDF. This setup makes use of ESDF for the 2 additional keyvinds on the left. |
||
+ | |||
+ | ==== WASD ==== |
||
+ | |||
+ | * Tab and Modifier keys (CTRL and Shift) are easily reached. |
||
+ | |||
+ | ==== ESDF ==== |
||
+ | |||
+ | * Provides 2 more keysbinds for spells on the left (W and A) |
||
+ | * Tab and Modifier keys (CTRL and Shift) may feel a bit hard to reach depending on your keyboad. |

||
+ | | Threat Dump |
||
+ | | If your Balance of Resto, you will really want to stay at range because your agro coheficient is greater at range then in melee. If your already above the melee threat threshold, going in melee range to cast this spell is asking for the mob to turn around and kill you. If your a feral druid and having threat issues your probably not the only one... This is a problem which should be fixed at the tank level and making a comment to your raid leader would be advisable. You should avoid using this spell as it's a lost of energy and global cooldown. |

+ | | Mangle should have priority over this ability as it does more damage and generates more snap threat. It's a good idea to lacerate multiple targets on AE pulls. |

Useful macros by class |
Template:Construction
What is this about?
I (Enalung) will be using this page as a place to take notes while I built my own UI. This will include macros I'm working on, keybinds, things that I have found work and don't work. This will include macros which I have not yet posted on Useful_macros_for_druids as well as custumised versions of theses macros.
This will serve as a draft for a page detailing the basics of a good druid UI. I have 2 druids and cover all 3 specs. The final goal is to find a highly responsive setup which works for both pve and pvp. Part of my goal is also to avoid confusion between my own keybind by finding a design which is intuitive no matter the form / spec I'm in.
Addons
Bartender
I am using bartender for bars.
Resto
Resto has very few actual keybinds. Most everything is done using a combinason of Grid and Clique. I make use of a few mouseover macros.
Feral
Cat
Those are abilities which are macroed to shift to cat and then cast a spell in a quick 2 press sequence of the button.
From Caster
- Mangle / Ravage
- Pounce / Shred
From Caster or Bear
- Maim
Notes to self:
- Add Night Elf Pounce to interface
- There are too few ways to move from bear to cat. It almost seems like I'm locked into cat. Perhaps better positioning maim would remedy this?
Bear
Those are abilities which are macroed to shift to bear and then cast a spell in a quick 2 press sequence of the button.
- Bash
- Growl
- Chalenging Roar
Note to self:
- Add Bear charge. Currently, shifting to bear and then charging is not responsive enough.
Keybinds
Modifiers
This setup makes heavy use of modifiers in order to keep all abilities as close as can be to the movement keys.
- Nomod: Used for primary *spam* type damage abilities.
- Shift: Used to quickly setup a new focus.
- CTRL: Used for secondary *on cooldown* or *every 5-20 seconds* type abilities.
- Alt: Used for interupts
Movement Keys
There are 2 main setups for movement keys. WASD and ESDF. This setup makes use of ESDF for the 2 additional keyvinds on the left.
WASD
- Tab and Modifier keys (CTRL and Shift) are easily reached.
ESDF
- Provides 2 more keysbinds for spells on the left (W and A)
- Tab and Modifier keys (CTRL and Shift) may feel a bit hard to reach depending on your keyboad.
Balance
Notes to self
- Add pvp and pve colums to the table
- Create a table listing similar abilities
- Find more info on keybinding setups.
Spell | Balance | Feral | Resto | Type | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
[Barkskin] | Yes | Yes | Yes | Defencive Cooldown | Protects from pushbacks while casting spells. Can be used while Crowd Controled to limit incomming damage. |
[Cyclone] | Yes | Yes | Yes | Crowd Controll | The target is fully imune while in cyclone. |
[Entangling Roots] | Yes | Yes | Yes | Crowd Controll, Root | Damage may make the root break early. |
[Faerie Fire] | Limited | Limited | Limited | Armor debuff | Mostly usefull to prevent stealth. Most Feral druids will use this spell in [Cat Form] or [Bear Form] for the armor debuff. |
[Force of Nature] | Yes | N/A | N/A | Damage Cooldown | Should be used on cooldown, or just before [Heroism] |
[Hibernate] | Limited | Limited | Limited | Crowd Controll | Used mostly in pvp against other druids, breaks on damage. |
[Hurricane] | Limited | No | No | Area of Effect | There are far more efficient way to do AE damage. [Hurricane] is very mana hungry and also limits your mobility while you are casting it. |
[Innervate] | Yes | Limited | Yes | Mana Cooldown | On long fights, it's better to use innervate early before you are low on mana. This will allow you to extend your mana far more as it is very likely to back up before the end of the fight. |
[Insect Swarm] | Yes | No | Limited | Damage Over Time | Balance druids should always have this dot ticking on at least one target and should try to spread it to as many targets as they can. |
[Moonfire] | Yes | No | Limited | Damage Over Time | Balance druids should always have this dot ticking on at least one target and should try to spread it to as many targets as they can. |
[Moonkin Form] | Yes | N/A | N/A | Shapeshift | Balance druids should always be in Moonkin Form while they are casting Balance Spells. |
[Nature's Grasp] | Yes | Yes | Yes | Crowd Controll, Root | Instantly roots anyone who hits you. |
[Solar Beam] | Yes | No | No | Interupt & Silence | It's easy to walk out of the beam. |
[Soothe] | |||||
[Starfall] | Yes | N/A | N/A | Area of Effect Damage Cooldown | Should be used on cooldown during a Lunar Eclipse if possible for maximum effect. |
[Starfire] | Yes | No | Limited | Damage | Main damage spell for Balance Druids, along with [Wrath]. |
[Starsurge] | Yes | N/A | N/A | Damage | Should be used on cooldown and every time it procs. |
[Thorns] | |||||
[Typhoon] | Yes | N/A | N/A | Area of Effect Knownback | A good way to put a bit of distance between you and your oponents. |
[Wild Mushroom] | Yes | No | Limited | Area of Effect | Only 3 mushrooms can be placed at once. |
[Wild Mushroom: Detonate] | Yes | No | Limited | Area of Effect | Must be used to detonate the mushrooms after they have been placed. |
[Wrath] | Yes | No | Limited | Damage | Main damage spell for Balance Druids along with [Starfire]. |
Feral
Spell | Balance | Feral (Bear) | Feral (Cat) | Resto | Type | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
[Aquatic Form] | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Shapeshift | Underwater Travel Form |
[Bear Form] | Limited | Yes | Limited | Limited | Shapeshift | Only tanks will remain in bear form for any lenght of time and use the full scope of this form's abilities. All other specs will only pass through Bear Form to survive or get a quick stun off. |
[Berserk] | N/A | Yes | Yes | N/A | Damage Increase Cooldown | In Bear form, spamming mangle while berserk is up is a good way to get a huge amount of AoE agro. In Cat form, Berserk is a good way to throw a quick burst. |
[Cat Form] | Limited | Limited | Yes | Limited | Shapeshift | Only Feral DPS will remain in bear form for any lenght of time and use the full scope of this form's abilities. All other specs will only pass through Cat Form to hide or make a quick exit. |
[Challenging Roar] | No | Yes | No | No | Area of Effect Taunt | This does not actualy taunt the mobs. Rather, it forces them to attack you for 6 seconds. |
Claw | No | No | No | No | Damage | Feral druids should use mangle instead and both Resto and Balance should use Balance spells given their spellpower gear. |
[Cower] | No | No | Very Limited | No | Threat Dump | If your Balance of Resto, you will really want to stay at range because your agro coheficient is greater at range then in melee. |
Dash | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Movement Increase | |
[Demoralizing Roar] | No | Yes | No | No | Attack Power Reduction, use whenever possible to decrease incomming damage. | |
Enrage | Limited | Yes | Limited | Limited | Rage Regeneration | If you are a Tank, you will be using Enrage before almost every pull. If you aren't a tank, you will still want to have it somewhere on your UI in order to be able to use abilities such as Bash. It is advisable to have a macro with a /cancelaura line to avoid taking extra damage when using Enrage in combat. |
[Faerie Fire (Feral)] | No | Yes | Yes | No | Armor Reduction | Reducing the armor will increase your damage as Feral. |
Feral Charge (Bear Form) | N/A | Yes | No | N/A | Gap Closer | |
Feral Charge (Cat Form) | N/A | No | Yes | N/A | Gap Closer | Best used with Stampede for the free Ravage. As the cooldown of Feral Charge (Bear Form) is shorter, Feral Cat druids can alternate between the 2 to get close to their target. |
[Ferocious Bite] | No | No | Limited | No | Finishing Move | With shred doing a lot of damage, there is very little point in using Ferocious bite. |
[Frenzied Regeneration] | No | Yes | Limited | No | Health Regeneration | |
[Growl] | No | Yes | Limited | No | Taunt | |
[Lacerate] | No | Yes | Limited | No | Damage Over Time | Mangle should have priority over this ability as it does more damage and generates more snap threat. It's a good idea to lacerate multiple targets on AE pulls. |
[Maim] | Limited | Limited | Yes | Limited | Crowd Controll, Finishing Move | Short Duration Stun, requires combo points. |
[Maul] | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Crowd Controll | Short Duration Stun, with the furor talent, you will have enough rage from shapeshifting alone to get this stun off. |
