This death knight-only flying mount can be purchased from Dread Commander Thalanor in Acherus: The Ebon Hold for 1000 . This is the starting price without the discounts based on the death knight's reputation with the Knights of the Ebon Blade.
Notes
- Since all death knights start as friendly with the Knights of the Ebon Blade, it's actual starting price will be only 950 .
- This is the first and only class-specific flying mount (excepting flight forms, as they are not technically "mounts"), and one of the unique perks of the hero class. This is, albeit technically, the only flying mount that scales to riding skill, as The Horseman's Reins was technically the first mount to scale to both ground skill and flying skill.
- For anyone concerned about gold, watch out! This is one of the more expensive flying mounts in the game, and the most expensive if bought at Expert. Simply waiting a bit after 80, when quests give gold instead of experience, makes getting this mount much more affordable.
